Welcome back. Sure hope that infection stays put and goes away.

Make sure that pillow stays between you legs. If you are sleeping

well you are ahead of the game.

Take care and soon you will be able to walk Gettysburg!

Sounds like you are doing very well. I wonder why they didn't give you

the blood thinning pills instead of shots.

---Arianne, you should contact your surgeon immediately if you or

your PT think you have an infection!! I'm very serious about this,

It's VERY important.

You DO NOT want an infection going into the new hip area.

I wish you the very best, and let us know what your surgeon

says. ..... Maxine

Thank you for your concern, Susie. Those blisters can be so sore. I have them

all over my

butt from the surgical tape. Everytime I go to take my pants down, it hurts

because they

stick to the blisters.

Yes, my hip is non-cemented, but I am full weight bearing. I have a 'Stryker'

cobalt and

titanium hip. It is supposed to be long wearing. It is the same hip that Jack

Nicklaus the

golfer got. He still advertises it all the time.

When this hip heals, I have to have the other hip done. Right now, I am trying

not to think

about that.

It is always so nice to see you post. I look forward to your posts.

I left a message on my doctor's machine last night, and within 5 minutes, the

doctor on

call returned my call. He wants me to keep up the hot compresses to try to get

it to drain.

He doesn't want to put me on antibiotic at this point.

Thank you for your concern.

I wondered the same thing, Elaine. I asked the doctor and he said he likes to

use the shots

so they will get right in to the blood stream. Hubby had a tough time finding

them

because hardly anyone uses the shots anymore. He was able to get a partial

supply at CVS,

and has to pick up the remainder on Monday.

No, Susie, my infection has not gone away. I have had 3 different nurses come to

the

house now and none of them are concerned about it. They say it is very

localized. I put hot

cloths on it 4 times a day and it hasn't come near to coming to a head. It does

look like it

is drying up tho.

The nurse today discovered I now have fluid in my right lung. No fever tho.

Well, I think I have had it all so far except a blood clot. Every night I say to

my daughter,

" Let's see what happens tomorrow " , and sure enough, something does.

a mixture of cooked oatmeal with some honey placed on the infection

will make it come to the surface. I did this for a boil and it did the

trick and the doctor wasn't having any luck. It is an Old remedy.

I know this may sound like a joke, but what about going to a walk-in clinic (heh heh?) -- no, but really, a walk-in-clinic should have an actual doctor there & you could consult him or her about the infection. The nurses may be right, but they're not doctors.

Good luck.

Does that mean I can use it as a meat tenderizer?

Ann

have they tried good old fashioned hydrogen peroxide on the sore yet. it chews away at dead, infected skin/meat quite well. it's cheap too. it hurts but by the second or third time you know what to expect and it's really not that bad

Or maybe you have no nerves left?

Hi Arianne , I'm sorry to hear that I was wondering did you ever use Neosporin Pain relief I used that on a sore I had on my leg won't the dr give you pills to take to get rid of the Infection ?Well I hope your feeling a lot better I'll say a pray for you thats if you don't mind . Susie No, Susie, my infection has not gone away. I have had 3 different nurses come to the house now and none of them are concerned about it.

They say it is very localized. I put hot cloths on it 4 times a day and it hasn't come near to coming to a head. It does look like it is drying up tho.The nurse today discovered I now have fluid in my right lung. No fever tho.Well, I think I have had it all so far except a blood clot. Every night I say to my daughter, "Let's see what happens tomorrow", and sure enough, something does.Arianne> > Hi everyone. I got home last night from my TRHR which was done Monday, > August 7. I tried the Peroxide today, , and the sore has dried up. Why didn't I

think of that?

Thank you so much.

away at

dead, infected skin/meat quite well. it's cheap too. it hurts but by the second

or third time

you know what to expect and it's really not that bad

Yes, Susie, I did use the Neosporin Pain relief on my butt blisters. The

blisters are all

healed now. I used the Hydrogen Peroxide today on the sore, and by tonight, it

has dried

up. The nurses still hear a snap, crackle Pop in my right lung, so I am still

using the

Inspired Volume Meter. Thanks for asking. I would love for you to say a prayer

for me.

None of us can ever have too many prayers.
