Guest guest
My surgery date got bumped from 8/31 to 8/22! >>> Woo Hooo 9 days down before you can blink~ that's pretty good. 9 less to wait and 9 less to worry~ can't beat that with a stick.... best of luck for another move up lee I've always said the sooner done the better to be over. I'm not real good about patiently waiting.... on regular issues but add hurting to the mix and I tend to get a lil ugly. LOL

Guest guest
My ex-boss who is carrying my health insurance is playing head games. September's payment is sitting in her mail box and she is purposely leaving it there It's been there since last Saturday >>> As in Cobra plan? Did you pay the premium to her which she's to forward? You could pay head games right back. Like contact the insurance company and explain there was a person you'd had previous problems with... you want to ensure payment is recieved so your coverage doesn't laspe... don't give names.... but ask if they could except payment from you directly instead of through the company or give you advise as to how to resolve the problem at hand. Or... instead of you writing checks to her to make your payment for the insurance.... Take a few additional steps to cover your butt.... Get a banks cashier check send it certified mail so she has to sign for it. Won't stop you from having problems with her paying it.... but least if something does happen that her head games creates a laspe in your coverage.... you'll have proof of when the check was issued to her (by the instituations non tampered with documents) AND when she signed for it being sent (trackable through the post office). Least in the courts eyes... then it's left to HER proving why she didn't get it where it should've been in a timely manner with you doing your part. Might mean the difference in your being responsible for payment of your medical bills instead of her liable because of neglience. Certainly is something worth considering from the sounds of it~ Best of luck 2 ya sweetie.
Guest guest
Thanks Sas.... You know what they say about the squeaky wheel..... I've been unemployed since April. My ex-boss who is carrying my health insurance is playing head games. September's payment is sitting in her mail box and she is purposely leaving it there (it's a long story, but true--she's the most vidictive, spiteful, mean-spirited person I have ever met). It's been there since last Saturday. I wasn't sure what her intentions were--and I really couldn't take a chance on not having any coverage for surgery and post op hospital stay so I called the drs office and pleaded with the scheduling sec'y. They came thru for me!!! Praise God. Onward... I want to get this chapter of my life behind me, find a new job and move forward. Patience isn't exactly my long suit, either LOL. Guest guest
I've got to stay on top of the never-ending ludicrous behavior of someone who is "supposed" to be a respected member of the community. Words just escape me when it comes to this whole situation..... >>> Well I certainly hope things give you a break from the pace. Guest guest
The good news is now everything is covered..... It's a challenge to me to just keep my mouth shut, but I think that is my best weapon. >>> Glad you got a smile outta my response. Some I believe are just merely here to test our faith and give us trails to actually see just what you intend on doing about it all. I agree~ the silence is certainly not what I would care to say she's hoping will be your response. After all.... if she can provoke you into doing something stupid then she's won her "reason why you aren't deserving" of the "good treatment she TRIED to see that you got" and end it. I don't know the details of why you've had problems with her... but you can bet with her trying to reopen an unemployment case previously decided that she's just wanting whatever it takes to make things hairy for ya. Just remember that ye give and ye shall get~ there isn't a guideline to it.... fact is you'll rip what you sow as my grandmother used to teach me. And sooner or later she'll get exactly what she's busy giving.... so I wouldn't worry much about it. Hopefully it'll all stop when she realizes that your not willing to play her petty games. Guest guest
Yes COBRA, but because the company has less than 20 employees, she's not required to do the COBRA thing, although she agreed to continue my coverage as long as I paid on time. The insurance check has been sitting in her mailbox since last Saturday - sent via certified return receipt. I also have someone at the state government level who is going to call her and give her and remind her that what she is doing is illegal if she doesn't pick up the check by then. I also know someone who works for the insurance company who is keeping an eye on things and just told me that her premiums are paid until October which means my premium is covered and she's playing head games. I don't think there is a court in the state that won't see it my way if it comes to that, just as Unemployment basically told her to go screw when she tried to reopen the hearing. So anyway, along with the stress of surgery, I've got to stay on top of the never-ending ludicrous behavior of someone who is "supposed" to be a respected member of the community. Words just escape me when it comes to this whole situation..... Re: Change in date of surgery! My ex-boss who is carrying my health insurance is playing head games. Guest guest
I believe COBRA is " good " for 18 months. Once a person signs on, they cannot just terminate you. I am the HR at my job... Jane
Guest guest
The law as I understand it says if there are less than 20 employees in a company, the employer is NOT required to offer COBRA. I don't think she can terminate me if I am complying to her demands and paying my share of the premiums to her on time especially considering the state agencies that know what is going on. This law has been confirmed by the State Insurance Department. She can indeed terminate me if I fall behind in my payments. So far, I'm a month ahead of schedule. Re: Change in date of surgery! Guest guest
Hello, I signed on a few days ago. My wife Barbara is having THR in October so I thought this group may be worth looking into. Looks like a good group of people here. RE: Cobra. There's info available on the Web about different Cobra programs and requirements. If you are a California resident, you may want to check this out http://www.dmhc.ca.gov/library/faq/coverage/cal-cobra.asp In short if you are a Cal resident there is a state Cobra program that fills the cracks in the federal rules. Do a Google Advanced Search with Cobra as your main search phrase, and your state government in the Domain search box, as in .ca.gov for California. Guest guest
Hey everyone, just an update on how I'm doing since my TKR. I have been in PT for two weeks and I've made some great improvements. I can bear full weight, although I still use my walker and crutches for support and balance. I started with 85 degree bend and now I'm at 96 degrees. I can also completely flatten the knee out straight now. I haven't been cleared to drive yet but getting in and out of the car is easier. I'm working hard and not regretting the surgery at all. I do still have some pain but that is also getting better. I can make it on one percocet every few hours but sometimes still need two. I still don't tolerate sitting at the computer too long, so it's about time to shut 'er down for the evening. Take care all, juneflower60@... wrote: Hi Dennis, I just wanted to say welcome and the people are very helpful here Well you have a nice day. Guest guest
Alta Bates was ok......what about the California Pacific Medical Center? Do they specialize in knee replacements? How have you done since the surgery? I'm looking at a knee replacement down the line. In fact, just had a cortizone shot yesterday. I certainly hope all is going in the right direction for you.
