After Surgery - Food Tastes Strange

Do any of you have a problem now post surgery with food tasting

different? I had my TKR on March 14th. For the first few weeks I

didn't want to eat anything and I lost alot of weight...which don't get

me wrong that was fine with me! But everthing tasted so strange.

Foods were more " magnified " for lackof a better word. More salty,

sweeter, crunchier. The water thing is true. I've always been a big

water drinker, but now I can't even get enough of it. I don't do the

cold Starbucks drinks like I used to, they are just too sweet now.

My sleep has return to normal finally thank goodness. Those 2 hours a

night were awful!! But foods still taste weird, I wonder if this will

ever go away? My OS said it was due to my long surgery (4 hrs 45 mins)

and all the anesthesia I had. That it would take " a while " to get out

of my system...

Just curious if any of you experienced any of this too.
