Guest guest
I had mine done Dec 1st and am 48. I am at 120 degrees and very happy as I can ride a bike. That was a big moment when I went all the way around!! I had the minimally invasive procedure so didn't have as much muscle damage, but waited way to long to have the procedure so am dealing with weakness and bad habits. It doesn't really hurt, but aches sometimes. Therapist said four months would really be needed to get back. I still limp a bit and it feels tight alot. Swelling isn't too bad but still noticable compared to other leg. I sit alot at work and try and walk around, but am so glad for therapy 3 times a week. AM using the treadmill which I haven't been able to for 2 years. I wonder somtimes when it will feel normal, but everyone says it takes quite a while. I think I did well the first month or so and now need to build strength more that anything. The only thing that really bothers me is the popping or whatever it is called when you use it. The therapist isn't worried, says the muscles getting stronger will help. Barbara

I am very pleased. And that 120 degrees is what my therapist can get me to, not on my own, but it feels so good to be able to riding a bike amd when sitting on my chair with an ottoman, I can pull my knees up. That is so nice. My therapist says at about 4 months you really feel alot better but most drs say it takes a year for it to really heal and some say 2 years. It still aches sometimes, today for instance, but for the most part I am really happy. Barbara
