I just hit the delete button. If it doesn't pertain to me or I feel I can not help, I let it go. We can't read everything.

I'm a THR and, can't relate to TKR but, may need to do it someday. The e-mails can get overwhelming.

I was wondering the same thing ... maybe it's just too hot to be sitting at the computer.

screeching halt?

This is a test post to see if the board has come to a screeching halt.

I sort of lose interest in our site when I open the

site and find 90 messages with 8 in row from the same

person. Out of frustration I don't have time I just

delete most. I think the heat is getting to me, too.

Love and best wishes to all who are dealing with a

current challenge. I'm sure glad people on this site

were active when I needed to feel supported with my RH

replacement back on Oct. Hope I have been some help.

You are in inspiration. I realize I have picked up a

few pounds from eating Ice cream during this heat

wave. I can feel the extra pound and want to take

them off. Thanks RUTH

Thanks.... I don't expect to lose that much every week. I'll take what I can get. I have been battling my weight forever it seems. Nothing like a health issue to get you motivated......

Oh goodness, I'd say enough too. I know the feeling about the body going bad. Between this hot, humid weather we are having keeping my asthma going, my knee keeping me awake at night, and my diabetes being on a roller coaster of high/low, I am LOSING MY MIND. I'm trying to keep a grip, but I don't know if I'm going to make another week waiting till the 1st for my TKR. It feels good to vent. I wonder if that is what a volcano feels like. It has to be. When the pressure builds up and the hot stuff finds a hole, whoosh. Yeah, it is a big relief to release the pent up junk. I'm glad you found a car you like. We have a little Chevy Cavalier. I will have to set the seat back a little when I have my surgery but I'll manage. Take care,

I am tired of fixing it, but it is not shifting properly. When the mechanic said, "$ 1600" --I said, "ENOUGH!" We found a lovely Chrysler Town and Country, so I may be back real soon. lol

My TLHR loves the height of the seat. And my two TKRs feel right at home and are delighted with the extra room to reposition [ just to keep this thread on track here.] lol

Yuck, I'm sorry. I know that costs money. What happened that can't be implanted?

I hear ya, .... I'm taking OTC Alleve (double dose) 2 times a day. Unless I keep up the cycle, it doesn't work. I have until the 31st before my surgery. And it's not only my hip--it seems to have a domino effect all the way below my knee..... Grrrrrrr....

I have had it. I can't take aleve (causes tummy troubles). I use Tramadol right now. Man, you got a whole month. God love ya, that bites too. I know about the domino thing. My knee hurting makes my whole leg hurt, and when I favor the knee my back hurts worse. GRRR. It's a mess too, but that is for another time. I don't know what I'll do with it. My OS is talking about sending me to a spine specialist for an evaluation, but we are going to fix my knee first and go from there. I'll keep praying for strength to go for both of us.

I'm dealing with it. I just don't know how much longer I can. This heat has been rough on all of us. My asthma is not being helped by it at all. I feel like I'm smothering sometimes. I have tried everything. I'll be ok it just helps to let out the frustrations sometimes. Thanks,

cindy, i want to ask kind of a stupid question. why do you want to put up with the pain and not go on anything stronger until surgery?? i hurt all of the time (chronic) but i got tired of it, after a few years, and decided to see my dr. about it. in this forum i read it over and over where people are in so much pain it takes over their lives and would rather suffer than take medication. i guess i just don't understand. people take vitamins+minerals every day, baby aspirin every day, heartburn meds everyday, anti-cancer meds everyday but they can be in terrible pain and their comment is "no thanks i'll be o:k ". it was kind of a hard decision for me too but i sat down with my dr. and said let's talk about addiction, define it for me. addiction seems to be the greatest concern people have. the other question was is a person better off to take large amounts of over the counter meds for short periods or take small doses of prescription meds for a longer time. being in pain for 30 - 40 more years didn't seem like a smart choice and when we looked the time span addiction became a lot smaller issue also. with the right med choices, side effects are almost non existent, it's reaction to other medicines is minor, no long term stomach damage and i get a part of my life back because the pain is kept in check

Your question is not stupid, it's being honest. I thank you for that. Addiction isn't what I'm worried about. Getting used to a medicine and maybe needing more that's the problem. It's called tolerance. I did this before when I was having dental problems. I got used to a dosage and had to increase it for relief. I don't want to do that here. Yes, I do take a pain med, it just isn't as effective as something stronger would be. It bumps the edge off it's just been really wet here in my area, and when it is wet for more than a few days the dampness sets up in the bones and makes me hurt more. And it didn't help matters at all that my chair shifted a little while ago and I banged my knee on the desk. I prop my foot up under the computer desk and it is easier on my knee and back. If the chair rolls suddenly sometimes I can't pull my foot down fast enough and my knee hits the leg of the desk. It is tubular steel under there not a an enclosed wood thing. I try to sit still

but I have to stretch sometimes. We have wood floors so the chair rolls easily.

I understand where you are coming from but I will cope. I see the OS next week for final pre-op instructions and I'll ask about the med thing. In the mean time I'll make do with what I have. Speaking of meds it is time to take mine. Take care,

Oh, you precious girls bring the tears to my eyes. Three years ago I was just like you, really and honest to goodness. I thought twice about getting out of my computer chair to even go potty! Every step made me groan in pain. I cried and ranted and I raved, and I have a daughter who has not yet forgiven me for my mouth.

But today? My legs are strong and sturdy. I can 'corner' on command--can you believe that? I remember the day I did it automatically--lol--I stopped and cheered for me and made everyone watch while I did it again! I have no more pain in either hips or knees. The spine is a different story, but that is for another day. Yes, I am out looking for another car so I can go, go, go. Hang in Leigh and and Connie, and holler all you want to! I will listen, I am not going anywhere more exciting. I will be here for you. I will walk with you, hold my hand.

Blessings on thee,

Marge

No problem. I like having found the groups I'm in. It helps that other people know what you have to deal with. Thanks to everyone for being there.

Yep sometimes it bites hard. Been there, done that too many times. Am I going to make it till the 1st without pulling my hair out? I'm in pain here. I hate using these words and God forgive me but DAMMIT IT HURTS!!!! I am using a mild pain pill but it isn't helping and I'd rather not go on something stronger till I have my surgery. Thanks for letting me vent. It helps sometimes.

Thanks ,

Sympathy feels so good!

It has reached the point where it is going bad in series. [Come to think of it, so is my body!

I am tired of fixing it, but it is not shifting properly. When the mechanic said, "$ 1600" --I said, "ENOUGH!" We found a lovely Chrysler Town and Country, so I may be back real soon. lol

My TLHR loves the height of the seat. And my two TKRs feel right at home and are delighted with the extra room to reposition [ just to keep this thread on track here.] lol

hugs

Yuck, I'm sorry. I know that costs money. What happened that can't be implanted?

Nope, I see your post, but it has been pretty quiet lately.
