Guest guest
Hi Hippy... I'm also 61 and had a RTHR MIS on 11/18. Only way to go. 2.5" incision. I am currently at week six. Cane only if I need it which I don't except for my daily manditory 2 mi walk; driving, did some yard work this am. A little pain yet: just above my knee and at my hip of course. As for rehab: discharged at 50 hr after surgery; no special PT or rehab hospital; did my PT at home; no special chairs or beds, sleep in a recliner for about 1 week; off pain meds after 1 week; stairs were no problem. Go for the MIS. You'll do great; just do your PT faithfully. Pops Minihip and Zimmer MIS Any comments on the two small incision hip replacement procedures: the Sculco minihip and the Zimmer MIS? I am 61, in good shape except for the hips, live outside Philadelphia, and planning to have both hips done at the same time.
