I fractured my acetabulum in June of 2002 which went undiagnosed for

8 months. My left side was terribly atrophied and I have the typical

loss of mobility and pain. In March, I was scheduled for surgery in

June. My surgery was cancelled due to workman's comp claims that it

was pre-existing. Went to court in Oct. and won. So, Jan. 14 is the

big day for my LTHR. Since March, I lost almost 60 lbs. and have

built back the muscles on my left side through extensive PT. Right

now I am in better shape than before the fracture.

However, I am getting nervous, more about the rehab than the

surgery. I have never been one to take things easy and the

restrictions on movement scare me a bit. I am afraid I will

dislocate the hip. Any encouraging words about recovery?
