Guest guest
My OS told me to stop using all elevated seats at 6 weeks. I have noe restrictions except for passing the midline. Hope this helps.
Guest guest
Ask your surgeon, he will be the one to decide when or if, you can relax your precautions. I just installed a new higher toilet to prepare but was wondering if I will need to have a elevator
Guest guest
Has your Dr. lifted any resrictions as of yet? Usally it is 6/8 weeks for bone to heal unless you had a bone graft. I would just call and leave a message with the nurse and let them et back with you. As I shall most likely need to have the other hip operated on within a few months, an equally-elevated seat would be suitable for both sides. So I already went out and bought one. > My cousin in England who is having her TRHR almost the same time as mine says she has been provided with this type of seat. > However, the therapist at Hadassah hospital says this type of seat is not recommended, and that I should get one that slants downwards on the right side, to keep the leg at the correct 70% position. My raised seat is the same height all around, and it has given me no discomfort. The toilets in the French clinic where I had my operation were built higher than normal, but were level. I would assume that you'll have more serious things to worry about. The most useful tool I bought in advance--and took with me to the hospital--was a grabber. I tend to drop things, and picking them up with a well-constructed grabber is easy. The person sharing my room in the clinic often borrowed mine. I also use it to put on my underwear and pants. You can even grab passing nurses with it! Staninfrance
