Good evening everyone. Hope you're holiday is being enjoyed. Goodness it's gorgeous in south west Michigan. Hubby, Ken and I have been outdoors the past 5 days, 14 hours each day! We've been digging holes, planting flowers, shrubs, trees, hanging plants, bird houses, bat houses, wind chimes etc... I am BUSHED!

Now to try to get on topic here... I go to my othopedist (sp?) on Tuesday for the cortisone shots in my ® knee. I am scared silly. I know, it sounds funny to be scared of shots, but.... Can someone tell me what to expect? I am totally wimpy to pain. They have to give me novacain for dental xrays! Dr. Bartman is going to have me fitted for an ACL hinged brace. I have a full length Bledsoe, but it's so hot I refuse to wear it, and I have a Donjoy brace that I had fitted a few years ago and 100 pounds heavier so it doesn't fit well enough to offer any relief or security.

Being outdoors has my knee amazingly calm! It's swollen like mad, but it doesn't really feel "pain" just tired, like I walked 10 miles. Maybe there is hope I won't have to undergo the arthrodesis soon! If I can get relief from the pain and swelling.

That was something else I was wondering... If the swelling is down does that = less pain? What about walking? If the swelling is down, do you feel like walking more? I LOVE walking... I used to walk for 15 miles a day! I loved it! Just me and the sky ---

Off to get a glass of water... hope I didn't ask too dumb of questions.

Hi I have had many shots in my knee I have had cortisone and also the syn-visc.For me the cortisone was a little more painful than the syn-visc.I did not receive much comfort from either. The shots were bareable not as bad as trip to the entist but then again I hate going to the Dentist.I think that also it depends on who gives the shot. Some cortisone I barley felt some and some I did.I hope that you have better luck with the shots and that they bring you releif.
