Guest guest
Sherie, Yes...my insurance is awesome. I have Motion Picture, which is thru the entertainment industry. It's a union insurance. I haven't paid one penny on my surgery or my PT. My surgery was over $86,000 - not to mention all the OS appts before and after. I'm sure it's over $100K by now. Then there was the knee manipulation I had a few weeks ago. That was $2,650. When I go to any doctor or dentist visits, I pay for nothing.....neither do my family members. I am so blessed to have this insurance. My employer pays for it too. This is why everyone tries to get into this industry. You just have to work a certain amount of hours per quarter to keep it. It goes into a special " bank " . In California, we have State Disability insurance which I pay for out of each paycheck. This is what I'm living off of now. Part of these hours are going into my insurance bank as well. When I go back to work part time in July, they will still pay me to match what I'm currenty getting now. With the price of gas and my commute, I'm actually saving money not working!!! I'm hoping my home based bookkeeping business will take off eventually so I won't have to work anymore. Hmmmm...I'll have to ask our tax guy about that jacuzzi write off!!!! Debi > > Deb sounds like you have good insusrance I am on HMO so I dont know how well that would go.A friend of mine got a jacuzzi whin she had a hip repaced the insurance did not pay for it but because she had a perscript from Doc she got to count it off her taxes as a medical expense at the end of the year. I know what you mean about money I have been off for 10 months and not on disability. sherrei >
Guest guest
Hi Sharon, And here I was just joking when I asked my OS about the jacuzzi!! I'm gonna really ask him about it when I see him on the 15th......and then talk to our tax guy. Guest guest
I talked with a tax person about this before doing our daughter's taxes. She said that as long as it was medically necessary and we had a written script from the doctor that it was ok. I'm sure you have to have a medical history to justify and my daughter did .
