Guest guest
Hi I would ask your doctor for advice and whether you can taper them more slowly. When I came off morphine I did it too fast (I had been on it 3 months though) and suffered miserably for 4 days. At 2 weeks post-op, you may well still have significant healing pain and require strong pain relief for a bit longer. We're all different, but my post-op pain was reasonably strong for around 3 weeks. (Nothing as bad as the pre-op pain though!) in NZ (post-THR, 25 days) -----Original Message-----From: Joint Replacement [mailto:Joint Replacement ]On Behalf Of Barb FreitagSent: Saturday, 23 December 2006 8:41 a.m.Joint Replacement Subject: Re: narcotics - post-surgery discontinuation ADVISE >> All, > > I am currently being tapered off Vicodin, which pre surgery didnt help.
