I think the length of the surgery depends on what type of incision the

surgeon does and how complicated the surgery is, the bone density, the

prosthesis used and the experience of the surgeon. I had a hip

resurface and it ran around 2 hours from beginning to end. It takes

longer for this type of surgery because the hip is literally taken out

of the socket so the surgeon can view the acetbulum and the head of

the femur.
