patients. gave me a booklet with tons of information re: the

surgery. i have a date for my surgery, yaaaaaaaaaaaaay.

JANUARY 22,

I'm pleased that you now have a set date. >>> Congrats on your date there LinDuhLou. Tell ya something I found to be a terrific tool.... especially if your one to get discouraged in times of waiting. I've had multiple times in doing physical therapy... so I kinda knew the drill ahead of time and how much I HATE IT. LOL But I had a journal that I kept~ both weeks before surgery and afterward. I made it a point to write daily.... and boy did it come in handy during the "it's a dragging by time~ I SEE NO IMPROVEMENT" recovery period.... when time seems to have it's own schedule and it's NOTHING close to yours. Believe me it's shortly after surgery... when your starting to feel better physically then ya really ever have and are still limited by doctor restrictions or not recovering as fast as you think you should be. A new leg brings on a visus additude of "I WANT 2 DO"..... anyways... if ya keep a journal during your experience.... it's a way of literally going back in time to see for yourself that your worst day in 2 hrs. of PT & hurting etc. is better then anyday prior to your surgery.... or laying in the hospital bed fighting with stockings LOL It helped to keep my spirits up throughout the process. Just an idea~

And by the way... is LinDuhLou really your name or just a nick for being online ? Curious because it is actually my daughters name... only I spelled hers LyndaLou~ I really liked the way you spelled yours too. Different is a good thing in my book. :) Any hoots... well walking 2 ya.

I'm pleased that you now have a set date. It will be

far less stressful for you to have a set date than to face the

unknown. You can now also start to plan the rest of your life on

your new hip.

Donna,

Arent you too kind?! Thank you for your sweet words.

Ha ha, I guess I have come a long way in such a short time though. Just a couple weeks ago I had unbelievably horrid doctors and now, I have a wonderful surgeon, surgery scheduled, etc. I am blessed.

Once I have my surgery and have recovered, I'll be more than happy to pass on anything I've learned that can help others, for sure!

Lindy,

Remember the dispair you felt when you joined this page? Now you have compassionate and competent doctors, the right medications and a wealth of information about your condition and upcoming surgery and recovery. You are confident about your decisions and your husband's support.

You've come a long way, baby!

I'm delighted to hear you like your sugeon and that he did a good job in communicating and answering your questions. I know you went prepared. :-)

You've been so forthcoming in your postings, like a sponge in learning everything you can and so compassionate toward others. I feel I've come to know you personally. I'm sure you will have the support of everyone on this page throughout your recovery. And I have no doubt you will freely share the benefit of your experience.

Warm regards,

Donna

Hi Linny, I'm so happy for you :-) That you found a good surgeon that listen to you and answer you questions .When I had my operations they never told me anything about a class you go to about your operation they gave me a pamphlet . You have your operation on the day before my birthday :-) Well you take care and have a nice day:-) Susielindy <everyothername.istaken@...> wrote: hi all, well i went to the surgeon -- LOVE HIM. he is so thorough, he explained EVERYthing, listened, answered questions, showed me a prothesis. there's a class i go to on Jan 2nd, for joint replacement pre-surgery patients. gave me a booklet with tons of information re: the surgery. i have a date for my surgery, yaaaaaaaaaaaaay. sassylou,

i've been keeping a journal ever since i learned for sure i need the surgery, which was in october -- i had been told a few years ago that one day i would need it, but in october i was told ASAP. i intend on taking the journal with me to the hospital and hopefully i will feel up to writing in it, but if not, i will when i get home and feel more up to it, and journal how i felt going through everything; i'm sure i'll remember. i'll keep a record of my progress as well, emotions, etc., etc.

my real name is linda lou la londe -- that's A LOT of Ls. i just call myself linDUHlou because sometimes i am really a ditz, like DUH, you know, and since linda is sort of pronounced like linDUH, well i just thought it was appropriate for me. ;-)

Susie,

It makes perfect sense, because emotionally I feel about 25 and sometimes I act 12. HA HA. I do feel young, I just don't know where the years went. They sure went fast.

Praying is the best thing you can do for your daughter and her family. They'll be fine; pray and try not to worry.

Yes, we're getting some snow as well and it's supposed to keep on snowing for the next week. It's also very cold! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Winter is definitely here now!

What kind of puppy is your daughter getting? Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, I wish I could get a puppy -- but right now -- it would just be TOO much work. My dog, who will be 7 in January, she's enough to handle.
