Guest guest
The market is awash with companies providing said training; look at First aid cafe and similar sites to get an idea. Once you've set yourself up as limited co. or sole trader, bought your training aids, sought validation/certification, got your insurances etc I think you'll find there is little profit in it and it's probably not worth the hassle if you intend to do it adhoc on your time off from a permanent contract. An alternative might be to get yourself certified as an instructor with a a well established company and gauge the market that way. Guest guest
Dear Dr.Santosh, You touched really the important causitive agent. The environmental factors plays dominant role, which cant be waived. From my point of view, charmak disease can be because of environmental factors. I wish if you could dig a little more on enviromental aspect of this disease. Best Regards Mohammad Bashaar From: drsantosh74 <drsantosh74@...>Subject: Dear Allnetrum Date: Wednesday, July 2, 2008, 10:53 AM Some facts about the environmental hazards of Pyrrolizidine alkaloids:Plants containing PAs are likely to grow as weeds among staple foodcrops and pastures, especially following drought, and consumption of such crops can cause large scale outbreaks of toxic disease in bothman and farm animals. Little is known about the effects on wildlifebut, in one report, the death of deer was ascribed to their grazing ontoxic plants.PAs are believed to be biodegradable so that water supplies are notsuspect.Main Hazards for Man and the Environment:Consumption of contaminated grain or the use of PA-containing plantsas herbal medicines, beverages, or food by man, or grazing oncontaminated pastures by animals, may cause acute or chronic disease. The principal target organ in man and most animals is the liver, resulting in collection of fluid in the abdomen and swelling of feet, etc. In experimental animals, administration of PAs has been known toproduce cancer. Though there is no proof yet of cancer developing in man, such a possibility cannot be entirely ruled out.Advice to Physicians:Occurrence of symptoms of rapidly increasing swelling of the abdomen accompanied by dragging discomfort in the right upper abdomen, particularly if affecting more than one member of the family or several members of a community over a limited period and geographical area, should arouse suspicion. The diet of such persons should beexamined for possible contamination with the seeds of toxic plants andthe affected persons should be questioned regarding the possibleintake of herbal preparations. If any such history is positive, thesuspected toxic seeds/herbs should be analysed for the presence of PAs using a simple field test, which can be carried out in a not toohighly specialized chemical laboratory.Examination of the liver by needle biopsy in patients or at post-mortem examination is most likely to provide the crucial clue.Haemorrhagic centrilobular necrosis and occlusion of the hepatic veinradicles in the liver are the hallmarks of the disease, if found inpatients with the symptoms described above. Needle biopsy of the liver should be performed only in a properly equipped hospital with facilities for blood transfusion.Dr.Santosh
Guest guest
Dear All, Plants that contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids are widely distributed in the world. Although pyrrolizidine alkaloids have been shown to be genotoxic and tumorigenic in experimental animals, the mechanisms of actions have not been fully understood. For more info please find attached file or click the link below http://www.mdpi.org/ijms/papers/i3090948.pdf Best Regards Mohammad Bashaar From: drsantosh74 <drsantosh74@...>Subject: Dear Allnetrum Date: Wednesday, July 2, 2008, 10:53 AM Some facts about the environmental hazards of Pyrrolizidine alkaloids:Plants containing PAs are likely to grow as weeds among staple foodcrops and pastures, especially following drought, and consumption of such crops can cause large scale outbreaks of toxic disease in bothman and farm animals.
