Hi Jeanetta

I really have been following your group via email for a couple months now. I

been practicing for the PTCE test but I have so much anxiety about taking the

test because Im self studying. Everytime I think about taking it I panic. Now

let me give some background I took a Pharmacy Tech Program in IL 4yrs ago and in

IL you dont have to certified to work or back then you didnt. But I moved to

Arizona where you get a Pharmacy Tech Trainee license until you take the test.

Even now a lot of places wont hire you without certification. I dont want to

take the test just to get hire though, Pharmacy is my field of choice. I want to

be able to work in a pharmacy as a tech while going to school to get an

Associates in Chemistry then on to Midwestern to major in Pharmocology.

I just cant get over this hurdle yet. I'm just stressed about taking this test.

Do you have some ideas about dealing with stress before the test???

This is what it says:

" Last Minute Advice on Taking the Exam

First of all, R-E-L-A-X

Take it from someone who has years of test taking experience. DON'T

CRAM!! It doesn't help and if you spend all night cramming you'll be

a wreck on test day.

You want a clear head for the exam, so spend the

next few days doing 'light' reviews. If you are struggling with a

particular area, study that problem area for a few minutes, then move

on to something else--always end the study session on a positive note-

-it gives you the feeling of success and accomplishment. You want to

go into the exam with 'good vibes'.

I usually take a day off from studying about 2 days before an exam.

It helps me relax and put everything in perspective. Make sure you're

getting enough sleep this week. Maybe increase your activity during

the day, so you'll be too tired to worry yourself to the point of

insomnia. Several days before the exam make a check list of the

things you'll need on exam day and have everything packed and ready

to go.

On the day of the exam eat a light but healthy breakfast--don't

overdose on sugar and caffeine. Take yourself out to lunch after the

exam. You deserve it!

Best Wishes,
