Guest guest
Hi Jeanetta, Thank you! I graduated from Boston college that had an adult ed. class at College of the Desert in Palm Desert. I went to school once a week on Saturdays for the whole day. We used The Pharmacy Technician book by Thomson (Delmar Learning) written by Jahangir Moini. I was told that I didn't need the PTCB certification unless I went to work at Walgreens. I was also told that I " might " need the PTCB certification by 2008. I am new at this, so I considered this to be the truth. Irena > > Dear Gingers Garden, > > It is has been a requirement of the school that I teach at for my students to take the PTCB exam before externship has finished but after they completeed the course work, since 2000. I implemented this BEFORE ANY OTHER CALIFORNIA School. > > I am not aware of the law changing in 2008. ? However, anything is possible. If you have heard anthing on this please share this. Why do you think so? Any inside scoop? > IF it becomes the ONLY way I will be VERY upset, as I believe schooling AND much BETTER Schooling than what is currently offered by ALL schools across the US, is the best way to educate, train and prepare to be a tech in practicing in TODAY's pharmacy. > > Gingers, may I ask what school did you graduate from? > What city are you in? We may be neighbors! I teach in Long Beach, live in Orange County. You? > > > CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR COMPLETION AND GRADUATION FROM PHARM TECH PROGRAM! > > Respectfully, > Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS
