Guest guest
Jeanetta, Thanks for that info. When I took the test in July, they told us that they were passing out 8 different versions of the test. I guess I just assumed they were totally different not just different orders. I have made a mental note of this. :-) Take care and God bless! Kathy S (Pa)
Guest guest
Ok, so i have been studying my behind off for my PTCB test coming up next monday.(November 16). I just wanna know, are these drugs really gonna kill me? i have studied the laws, the lay out of a pharmacy, the math, i understand the sig, but i feel that the only way i can learn these drugs is by really working as a tech. my question is, how many questions are really on the drugs, and does the test really focus on math more than knowlegde of everything else. anyone who has taken the test, can u please tell me how much math, drug names, and anything you remember from the PTCB. Thanx and sorry for sounding kinda stressed. - (future pharmacy tech)
Guest guest
Dear , While there may not be straight drug trade/generic a questions, there are those PLUS questions about pharmacology: 1. drug storage 2. drug handling 3. drug auxiliary/warning/contraindication 4. drug indication/use 5. drug classification 6. drug interactions: drug/drug/food/herb/disease state 7. drug adverse reactions : side and toxic effects 8. drug mechanism of action 9. drug special information I always suggest that people study to WORK as a TECH = the BET tech they can be, NOT JUST to merely pass the exam. ESPECIALLY those people who will not have the benefit of hands on experience of a job or externship from a school. Teching is not cashiering! Many people will go to tech in hospitals making IV's and Chemos. Do we really want them to know just the minimum? You most likely will pass if you don't know everything abotu every drug! In fact if you missed every drug question you might pass, but the patient will lose! Sorry to be so blunt, but that is my opinion!
