Guest guest
I'm looking for clarification on what the PTCB considers the number of drops per ml to be. I understand that viscosity, etc enters in, but for working the certification test there must be a number that we are supposed to use. I've seen everything from 12-20 drops per ml in the study materials supplied by my employer and the formula we use on the floor is 16. So does anyone know what the Board is really looking for? Guest guest
Dear Inkberry, On any exam they MUST give you the parameters of the problem, unless it is already universally accepted. SINCE the gtts/ml constant factor CAN vary or change per flow meter. model, mfg etc, the Drop Factor must be given in the problem. Hope this helps, Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS Founder/Owner From: Marsha <inkberry_designs@...> Subject: drops per ml Date: Friday, June 5, 2009, 11:53 AM I'm looking for clarification on what the PTCB considers the number of drops per ml to be. Guest guest
Here is some universally accepted drip rates, but again one has to specifiy this on the exam: mini or microdrip is a 20 gtt/ml, while a microdrip is 60 gtt/ml Respectfully, Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS Pharm Tech Educator/Advocate F/F > > > From: Marsha <inkberry_designs@...> > Subject: drops per ml > > Date: Friday, June 5, 2009, 11:53 AM > > > I'm looking for clarification on what the PTCB considers the number of drops per ml to be.
