Guest guest
Hi Carolyn, I am not sure how cooperative your son will be, but if you take him to a good opthalmologist, you can get glasses to correct the vision problem instead of using the patch. It works just as well, if not better, and is less irritating to the child. Hope this helps, Capa
Guest guest
I live in Alabama unfortunately.... Guest guest
Carolyn, my daughter, had this and had to have two surgeries before she started kindergarten. She also did exercises. The patch would not take care of this because the muscles were too strong and had to be cut. She is now 32 yo so that has been some time ago but just had surgery for the same thing. No patches and no exercises. We had been seeing the doctor for a couple of years before the surgery and it would have been done a year earlier but for a screw up by her staff just before her vacation. But then it was not an emergency. And lo and behold, right at the same time as 's surgery I noticed that Evan's eye was wandering off! I am not at all pleased with the prospect of taking him in for the same thing. They tell me that they can work with a child like him but I have not been anxious to take him there yet. I mean it was hard enough to get a bipolar/ADHD child through it. Taking one that has the LFA-MFA/MR lable scares me more than I want to think about. Since he is not reading or speaking for that matter and it is not severe I am not sure how much of an emergency. Personally, I would not bother with the patch until/until you have an eye doctor tell you that is what is needed. But then that is just our experience. Guest guest
Vitamin A ( Cod Liver oil) corrected my NT son's lazy eye. Dr Megson is our ASD son's Doctor, who suggested it may help. www.megson.com http://www.treatmentchoice.com/megson.html http://www.autisminfo.com/VitaminA.html D Re: Strabismus Carolyn, my daughter, had this and had to have two surgeries before she started kindergarten. Guest guest
Hi Carolyn: I know that it took quite awhile to work. He had horrendous excema also, which shows you just how deficient he was. We give him ( he is 5 1/2, 46 lbs.) 1 Omega 3, 1 cal/mag/zinc, 2 CLO ( 2500 iu) daily. I had to work up to 2 CLO slowly-when I tried to raise it quickly, he was really cranky. What conference? I haven't heard anything about it. That conference maybe " do-able " , as I have to pick up one of my boys in NC from camp on the 28th- we live in South GA, so what is a few more hours in the car? LOL Please send me the information on it if you have it. gstone98@... Have you tried Urecholine yet? Re: Strabismus : My son is on cod liver oil for about 2 months now.
