DearJoann,

I have a copy of the book to which you refer. It is the newest Text book out

there. and I go way back to CSHP where we both served as Technician

Delegates. She has a fine book. I have not used it in class. It is meant to

teach lab, lecture and pharmcology from the same book. I think she is very

innovative in her approach. However like all textbooks they are meant for the

classroom and for instructors to augment and to supplement with personal

experience. Ther may be secdtions taht you may veel need more explanation, this

is what I am talking about. This would be true of any text book.

I have lost contact with , last I knew she was in Az at Apollo. I know she

is not there anymoe. But if anyone knows where she is I would love to give her a

ring/email just to send love and to say hello and Congrats!

Let us know how you like the book. By the way how did you hear of it?

Respectfully,

Jeanetta

I just wanted to say hello, and let you know how happy I am I found

this site. I have decided it was time for a career change and I just

recently bought Mosby's Pharmacy Technician Principles & Practices by

Thersa Hopper. I was curious to know if anyone here has used it and

if it was helpful? I am 36 and worked in a retail pharmacy about 16

years ago. I was not certified at that time but I did work there for

about four years, and I was the only other person that worked there

besides the pharmacist. I learned alot but not enough, the pharmacist

I worked with was very old so I basically did most of the work and he

checked everything. I know I have a long road ahead of me when it

comes to studying, but I am not in a hurry. I don't plan on taking

the exams until 2005 sometime. I know I will not be ready to sign up

for the Nov exam. 16 years is a long time to be away from a pharmacy

with all the new drugs that come out, so I have lots of studying to

do. I also am not good with all the math, so I have to work on that

too. Any suggestions would be appreciated as far as books to study

and so forth and what topics I should tackle. Taking classes really

isn't in my budget, so I am hoping I can do this by studying my heart

out. Thanks

Joann

Jeanetta -

I would love to find myself - since I was the one that hired her at

Apollo and got worked with her at Northwest Medical Center in Tucson. She

only lived less than 2 miles from me when I was in Tucson, but lost touch when

she moved into a new house. C'est la vie! is an EXCELLENT educator -

I hope she is continuing to share her knowledge.

Hi,

As of two years ago, I thought Hopper was at Western Career

College in Sacramento. I believe she is now at Heald College in San

Francisco. My guess is she is preparing the chain for a Pharmacy

Tech. program launch after Heald decided to include allied health

programs to its existing business and tech programs a year ago.
