Guest guest
Dear Jo-Ann, You have a MAJOR problem in MOST STATES and I DO Believe in CA!!!! If you want to be a registered Pharmacy Technician you CAN NOT also be a registered pharmacist! I do believe that you have to give up your pharmacist registration to become a registered pharmacy technician. That being said do not take my word for it but CHECK out this information! Secondly I thought you had to do your 4th year internship in order to qualify to graduate to become eligible to that the states Pharm D exam NAPLEX and then register to become an RPh. So if you are already a pharmacist graduate AND a registered pharmacist then why didn't you have to do an internship in order to graduate? Now that being 'asked' I have reread your last post and think it is possible that you were educated and a pharmacist in a country other than USA and that is why you took the FPGEE. IF this is the case this may explain why you have no internship behind you already and explain why you need such and experience. Well again I would suggest a rural area farther away from CA pharm schools or another state to get 'hired' on as a pharmacist intern....but I would suggest a volunteer internship instead as a greater possibility. However, I caution you again to become registered as a pharm tech, as it is my understanding in CA and in other states you can not hold BOTH a registration as a pharmacist and as a technician at the same time. Hope this helps, Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS Founder/Owner > > Hi Jeanetta, > Sorry for the confusion I made. > > Yes I'm a registered pharmacist in our country and took FPGEE (Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Evaluation Exam) last Sept 30 and happily passed the exams. > > I am actually looking forward to become a pharmacy intern either in a hospital or drugstore. And because of the current economic situation right now I heard that only few agency/establishments are willing to hire a pharmacy intern so I thought that maybe I should work as a pharmacy technician for the mean time while I wait for someone to hire me as a pharmacy intern. > > When I passed the PTCB in April I actually had no idea that I still need to register with the CA State Board of Pharmacy.I was just told by a pharmacist two days ago on how to go about the process of registering as a pharmacy technician. > > Thank you Jeanetta. > > Regards, > Jo-Ann >
