Hello,

Transdermal: when medication is applied to a patch, disc, as a way of

administering a form of medication such nitroglycerin. Pain medication is also

delivered this way, Fentanyl Patches (CII)

Topical: is medication applied, in cream, ointment, gel, from one container to

the skin.

Percutaneous, : I had not heard of this, until I looked it up:

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

In surgery, percutaneous pertains to any medical procedure where access to inner

organs or other tissue is done via needle-puncture of the skin, rather than by

using an " open " approach where inner organs or tissue are exposed (typically

with the use of a scalpel).

The percutaneous approach is commonly used in vascular procedures. This involves

catheters can be placed into the blood vessel. This technique is known as the

modified Seldinger technique. Accupuntior would be one

Hope this Helps

Hello,

I've got another question on PTCB materials: I'm not sure I quite

understand the difference between transdermal, percutaneous, and

topical delivery. Can someone enlighten me on this? One example that

they have is the nitroglycerine ointment: will this be consider any of

the above? Many thanks in advance.

An excellent response and thank you for the documentation of further

information! This is the type of response that I expect from my

texperts! You did a great job!

And I learned so much from that site. I expect to do a tutorial on it.

Thanks again!
