Guest guest
If you go to the California State Board of Pharmacy site the application is for a Technician Registration. Techs are NOT licensed in the state of Ca. Licensing requires a state exam, such as for pharmacists or nurses or cosmetologists (hair dressers). They refer to it as a license because: 1. It comes from the Consumer Affairs licensing board that does all registrations and licenses in the state of CA for all types of work. 2. MOST people are misinformed and still continue to call it a license. Once again it is NOT. But since most people still call it that they know that the public and techs will most likely refer to it as that so they do. Poor communication. As I stated my students have recently had 2 - 3 month waits. That is normal and 'good' for CA. About a year ago the wait was about 4 - 7 months, and I heard it was because the person who did most of the qualification checks left office and they had to train and were short staffed. But the usual reason for waits has to do when most students finish voc or school programs: in the early summer or at the same time of other traditional semester classes end: Jan/Dec, May/June, Aug/Sept, etc. Thanks for informing the California community of the wait. Let us know the exact email if you ever get it. Respectfully, Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS F/O yuriy04 <yuriy04@...> wrote: I called the pharm board today. They said that if it's been longer than 8 weeks since you sent in your application, you have to email them and they promise to respond within 72 business hrs. the email is something like appstatus@.... Something like that. But, please find out the exact email address, don't use what i wrote. They also refer to it as Pharmacy Technician " License " , and not registration. Guest guest
I will. Hopefully the waiting period will continue to decrease. It's a good sign that they are willing to answer individual questions about the process if the waiting period exceeds 8 weeks. Maybe/hopefully the waiting period will be shorter for applicants with no criminal history... In the app there are quite a few questions re: that. thanks, ymn > > If you go to the California State Board of Pharmacy site the application is for a Technician Registration. Guest guest
Hi Yuriy04, The waiting to get the fingerprints checked to begin with is the same. What takes a while is to check out the 'stories' thast the applicant has writtine and to verify that they 'match' the court records. If there is a descrepency they state usually will notify the applicant to clarify the statements and the problem. If it is a blatant lie they do not or will not notify the applicant but simply reject them. If the descrepency is small and a matter of opinion or 'angle' or dates and times from personal recollection, things that can be simplified, verified and clarified etc then they continue with the qualification process and the applicant may or may not be accepted. IF the fingerprint shows an immediate NO history or problem then the qualification process continues and if all requirements are met the applicant will be granted a registration. HOWEVER time is also different for each 'batch' of no history problems because of the quantitiy of the applications at the SAME time or workload!!! So this can create a backlog of verification and registrations being printed and sent out. It is a simple supply and demand and backlog problem once all is verifiedy. Certain times of the year more students are graduating and this also causes a backlog in all areas of the process. Hope this helps to explain the waiting period better. Remember WE are here waiting with you and for you! Love ya Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS Founder/Owner yuriy04 <yuriy04@...> wrote: I will. Hopefully the waiting period will continue to decrease.
