Guest guest
In the beginning back around 199 to 2003 Walgreen's and CVS paid for taking the test and some paid for the study guides. Over time I have heard of states and areas where it is not covered, most of CA is not. So if you plan to respond PLEASE give us what state you are speaking about. In CA I do not know of any chains that pay for this except in some cases CVS. I would be most interested to know myself. Jeanetta CPhT yuriy04 <yuriy04@...> wrote: I heard Walgreens and Target does. Guest guest
Hi Jeanetta, I have a friend who i talked today, she works in Stockton's (CA) Targets, she told me that they paid for renewal of tech license. When I was taking PTCB, a woman next to me told me that walgreens paid for registration. She works in Orange County. I do not know her or have her contacts, so i can not say for sure if the info she told me was reliable. I heard Walgreens and Target does. I believe walgreens even pays for > ptcb exam. fee for the renewal is not bad, but just wondering. > > thanks. > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Dear Yuriy, I teach in Long Beach CA and most of my techs end up working in hospitals after their externships. Most hospitals do not pay for PTCB. As a requirement for graduation, my students must take senior finals AND take PTCB . None of the retail externship sites pay for students to take the PTCB However some used to. It surprises me that Target did for your friend. but i say WONDERFUL! My renewal just came and it did not ask for any PTCB number or CE's as it is not required by law in CA. However some techs who did not go to school may need this as continual proof. Let's see what others have to say. Thanks for your questions and input. Again state is very important. Guest guest
Hi J and All, CVS (New Jersey and I believe nationwide) will pay for the exam one time after the employee has been working for 6 months and has taken CVS training course certifying the employee as a CVS trained technician. They will also provide 2 study guides and a textbook which the employees may use to self study. Or in some cases, the technician trainer will hold classes for PTCE study. - New Jersey -- Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming " WOO HOO - what a ride! Guest guest
I was told by my tech that our hospital has technicians pay for the exam and the renewals to keep their registrations current with PTCB but they can submit the receipts and the hospital reimburses them. Guest guest
VERY nice! Joy, on another note: I was asked if there are any pending technician error law suits in Florida. Do you know of any? Also what is going on in Fl about tech cert and registration? any new laws or still being discussed?
