Guest guest
Allow me show you this method: How many tablets will it take to fill the order? I have been trying The problem reads as follows: If a compounding orders calls for Flagyl 125 mg bid x 7 days, and only 0.5 gm tablets are available, how many tablets will it take to fill the order? Use of 'string conversion' math or dimensional analysis DA 125mg/dose x 2 doses/day x 7 days = 1750 mg per prescription ] Ratio Proportion R/P 1 tab X tabs ------------ = --------- 500mg 1750mg 1 x 1750 ----------- = X tabs 500 3.5 tabs Now for this to happen the tablets must be able to be used once split open. If the tablets are scored then the tech can do this. But if not scored the pharmacist must be consulted. Hope this helps, Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS Founder/Owner PS recall that 0.5gm = 500 mg
