Now, more than ever, Pharmacy technicians provide invaluable services both to the pharmacy team and to the patients served by the pharmacy. As demands continue to grow for pharmacists' time, PTCB certified pharmacy technicians are poised and ready to take on additional roles and responsibilities. Shane P. Desselle, RPh, PhD, FAPhA, Associate Dean for Tulsa Programs, Professor and Chair Department of Pharmacy: Clinical & Administrative Sciences — Tulsa College of Pharmacy University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center will be speaking about recent evidence-based publications focused on pharmacists' attitudes and opinions about certification of pharmacy technicians and the roles of pharmacy technicians in the workplace. Coyle, Pharm. D., Pharmacy Supervisor of the Washington, DC District for Walgreens will discuss the evolution of pharmacy technician roles and where the profession is headed in the future. Case studies of innovative roles for PTCB certified pharmacy technicians in the workplace will be showcased during this session. Pendleton, MM, R.Ph., Director Pharmacy Services at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital and PTCB Certification Council member will provide an update from PTCB.
