I just went in to see the doc yesterday for a med check. I've been feeling jittery at times, and my heart is racing and I feel Short of breath while being on the Lexapro but I also have Mitral valve prolapse. I thought it may be acting up again. After talking to my doc yest, she feels I'm VERY apprehensive about taking or starting new meds and it's probably contributing to these feelings I'm having. So she wants me to wait it out, and if they get worse, then I need to call my regular doc up again and maybe get started back on my beta blocker. Anyone else have " anxiety/heart symptoms " when starting the lexapro? I'm also only on 5mg right now. Thanks! Amy
Guest guest
>>Anyone else have " anxiety/heart symptoms " when starting the lexapro? << My son has had some anxiety attacks, and at first they were related to his concerns about taking medication. We had dealt with his anxiety before, and figured he would get every side affect mentioned, just from thinking about them. Lately, it's been asthma (he thinks.) He was at the doctors yesterday, and did a test, which ruled out asthma. The doc upped his Lex to 20 mg (from 10, he started about a month ago) and gave him something (I'd have to go look) for when he is feeling anxious. We'll see what happens. Guest guest
Brad Hello! I'm not sure if we ever met. I'm Jaci. I'm 23 I have a SCS and two PNS (peripheral nerve stimulators) The best way to describe the stimulator when its on is it feels like a tens unit (if you have had one of them before) or if you have gone to a chiropractor or physical therapy and you had the treatment done where they put the pads on you and it provides electrical stimulation. Those I would say are probably the closest thing to the feeling. If you haven't had either one of those let me know I have another comparison but its not as good. I find that once I have had my stimulator on for a while I get used to it and I don't feel it the majority of the time. I will feel it if I move in a certain position sometimes or if I am doing certain things. The stimulator doesn't limit my mobility. (once I was healed) As far as side affects its not like a medicine where it makes you sick but if you move a certain way you might get an increase in the sensation almost like a jolt. Ok I don't know if these are really side affects but once you have a stimulator these are things that you can't have or do - MRI's, you can't have diathermy -ultrasounds involving heat, and or without heat depending on your doctor and the location of the ultrasound in reference to your stimulator. Also when you go through medal detectors you may get a little jolt, ( don't let that scare you it really doesn't hurt and if you have the stimulator turned down to zero you won't feel it) they recommend that you try and avoid them when you can and if you can't turn it down and off. I've gone through them before. They will give you a card saying you have the implant. If you already knew all that stuff sorry but I figured it couldn't hurt to make sure. If you have any other questions let me know. If I think of anything else I will let you know. I am kind of tired right now so I might wake up tomorrow and realize I forgot something. Good Luck. Guest guest
Brad wel Depending where your leads are placed yes you can see movement. example Most my Stimulation in my legs so If I turn my Stimulator way way up which hurts it will make both legs kick by themselves my wife thinks it is crazy. How does Stimulator feel. well Stimulator feels like a tingling vibration hard to explain. Guest guest
I amnot sure of a specific site for this. You may have to go to rxlist.com or drugs.com or epocrates to look up each drug you want to know about ( or start with top 200 drugs) and make a chart. This site may also help you.j Drug Side Effects http://www.drugs.com/sfx/ Hope this helps.
