Any person who handles or intends to handle controlled substances must obtain a

registration issued by DEA. A unique number is assigned to each legitimate

handler of controlled drugs: importer, exporter, manufacturer, distributor,

hospital, pharmacy, practitioner, and researcher. This number must be made

available to the supplier by the customer prior to the purchase of a controlled

substance. Thus, the opportunity for unauthorized transactions is greatly

diminished. "

there are no refills for c2 narcotics so a patient must need a new prescription

if wants a refill, and if its partially filled, it should be filled within the

72 hours. c2 narcotics are not allowed to be tranfer to another pharmacy except

for c3-c5 narcotics. also c2 narcotics must be filed seperate from other

prescriptions for a mininum of 2 years
