Can you take Tylenol 3 while using LDN? I thought anything with codeine wouldn't work with the LDN. I am having an operation in September and my doctor said to get off of the LDN 1 week prior to get it out of my system because they would us morphine on my after surgery and LDN would block it from working.

Hi Tom - sounds like in general you are doing better. I am happy for

you. Just stoping all the other meds has got to be a good thing.

I think it is odd that the LDN is not helping your fatigue - don't

have any suggestions for you because LDN solved that problem for me.

Hopefully with time, it will help you there too.

Thanks for the update. Reading how other people are doing on LDN is

helpful, well at least for me.

factor, I would sure like to know about them.

Fatigue remains a problem for me as well. I am injecting

Methylcobalamine(B12) which seems to help. Still trying to get the

frequency of injections right (need to also take Zinc). Lately I

have also been using B12 under the tongue (a pill bitten up) several

times a day. The combination seems to be best. I get my injectible

B12 from 's in Toronto.

I have also been monitoring my blood pressure which is somewhat low.

Never paid attention to it before MS (always just told it was fine)

but am doing chelation for Mercury and they always check pre and

post. My upper range is about 115/72 with my lowest recorded 80/52.

Obviously I feel " fatigued " when it bottoms out. I have cut back on

lots of what I have been taking to see if anything is lowering my

blood pressure. I suspect Lipitor may be the problem as I stoppped

it, and started it again shortly before my lst MS attack. I do have

high cholesterol but I am very concerned about the side effects of

statins.

Check your pressure regularlry for a while.

Do you take a statin or anti-viral?

Best

You had a lot of improvements that I didn't, but the fatigue for a couple of months was horrible. I was sleeping days away.

It seems like the last 2-3 weeks, I am no longer 'fatigued' all the time. There is the occasional day I need a couple extra hours sleep, but the majority of the time, I'm up all day till bedtime.

I'm on day 87 and it was a gradual improvment. Maybe it will just require more time.

Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Day 50 LDN

Hi Folks,

Well, just a little of my experience. Hope it is helpful to someone.

I have now been on LDN for 50 days. 3.0 for about two weeks, and 4.5 since then.

Have no more pain in upper body. Have quit taking Vioxx for the last three weeks with no negative results.

I am no longer taking sleeping pills, or amphetamines.

Have quit taking baclofen for last two weeks. No negative results.

All I am taking now is LDN, Antivan, Paxil. and the odd Tylenol 3.

The cloudy opaque spot on my right eye is gone; it sometimes comes back a little if I am overtired.

I have much better bladder control, and can sleep for much longer periods than before.

Bowell control is better, but I have also been eating better too.

Stiffness is slightly worse at 4.5, but manageable. I can even walk around the block now unaided, even jog a little bit, believe it or not. Aquasizing is a great help.

Main problem is fatigue - how I hate that word. I can sleep 20 - 22 hours a day, only getting up three to four times to go to the bathroom. I have ordered Benfo, but have not received it yet. I am also looking at BVT.

If anybody has any recommendations regarding reducing the fatigue factor, I would sure like to know about them.

TIA

You are correct; fruits, veggies, nuts. All of which can be contaminated by salmonella and other organisms. It is not likely, although there is a recall going on right now for raw almonds suspected of salmonella contamination. But it is important to be very careful that the raw foods you eat are properly cleaned to further reduce any chance of illness. The practice of using manures as fertilizer is absolutely great, but can also increase the chances of contamination.

Don't quit eating your salads and other raw foods; just wash well.

Hi Tom,

The Ativan you take could be a factor in causing your fatigue. How

much do you take and when do you take it? I'm serious about this.

You might want to talk to your MD about very gradually reducing the

amount you're taking if, in fact, you might be taking too much.

This is just a thought. Not medical advice. Good luck, ldnyes

I have used Tylenol 3 and it worked well. I think the codiene wasn't necessary as The LDN still did it,s job and pain management was good on T-3.

The naltrexone leaves our bodys really very fast and that may be why the Tylenol still worked cause I was taking it in the afternoon and the ldn in the evening.

Now it is just my thought but I believe that at no time did I have both of them in my system at the same time.

I remember reading where we take a low dose in a fast release form cause it has to go to work and then leave our systems quickly.

I know when the LDN. isn't working, believe me.Tylenol hasn't affected that. Has the ldn affected the codiene not that I can say.

So then would this small amount of naltrexone affect the morphine? I wish I had some here to try then I would get back to you.

I agree. Also, of the SSRIs, Paxil is the most sedating (more so than

Prozac and Zoloft). Might be good to see if a reduction or switch is

indicated.

Best,

All I am taking now is LDN, Antivan, Paxil. and the odd Tylenol 3.

=============

Tom,

Antivan, Paxil. and the odd Tylenol 3 all cause drowsiness. You may not have

the fatigue you think you're having if you can get off of these. You're getting

a triple whammy of drowsiness with these 3 meds. No wonder you sleep so any

hours and feel exhausted. You're staying comatosed with these 3 meds.
