Guest guest
Sooooooooooooooooooo what did you tell them about the clerk job? What were your exact words? Jeanetta yuriy04 <yuriy04@...> wrote: 4 mins into the interview i am told that the're actually interviewing me for a job as a clerk and not a tech. it's all good though, i'd accept that job b/c it's part time... i am keeping my fingers crossed that i get it. Guest guest
I asked them if there was a posibility to be promoted to a tech job. The guy said, " sure if one of our techs leaves " ... Then I started talking about why i want to work in a pharmacy etc and the interview went on... The guy was really nice... I don't know if he was sincere or not... In the end when he asked if i had any questions, i asked what a clerk does... Maybe thats a bad question to ask.... He told me a clerk does everything except dispense drugs... I dunno though, the online apps suck b.c they don't list openings, just submit apps to a specific store or two. I applied to walgreens, CVS, costco, sent my resume to Long drugs... Only got one reply from these guys... Although it's been only about a day... 4 mins into the interview i am told that the're actually interviewing > me for a job as a clerk and not a tech. it's all good though, i'd > accept that job b/c it's part time... i am keeping my fingers crossed > that i get it. > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Good QUICK thinking response! Were you replying to an open position of tech? or just an opening for pharm help? or what? Did you go on your own or ??? Since you have worked hospital before you might try another hospital. Since you are in college classes. YOu NEVER know some retail pharmacists do not like their techs to know too much! So they may not want one who is trying to get into pharm school or has had college classes. Also some feel if you go on to Pharm School they have spent time training you and they do not want to hire and spend time to train someone else. They are looking for permanent help. However they may also have been looking for an experienced tech. Just some things to think about that are the negatives. The positives are that he did not end the interview quickly. It was two way in which he asked if you had questions. He was nice! Since I do not know how the interview ended I can not say anything else. but if he said he would call you either way that is very nice. If he said for you to call back that is also promising. If he said we are still interviewing and we will call you if we want a second interview that is neutral. If he said we will call you with in 'two weeks' if we select you that is neutral. If he said nothing regarding the future that is grim. If he said 'okay well we have your application thanks for coming in' no real ending or look to the future, that does not sound promising. (none of the above are set in stone, tone has much to do with the outcome and meaning.) Hope this helps. In any case if you do not hear from them 2 weeks from the day you interviewed I would call him back OR go in person. Guest guest
I applied online to CVS where they allow u to chose only two stores... I had no idea if there were any openings, i just picked that location cause it's fairly close to my house. He did say he will call me on friday (today), or if he gets too busy and forgets, to call him on monday. Looks like he forgot. He tried to find out as much as he could if i had enough experience working w/ people, how long i can work, hrs and times, asked if i tried to get a full time location at my previous place. Guest guest
Hm....he may be trying to find out WHY you are leaving or left your previous place and it sounds fair to good. Much depends upon openings, YOUR availability and other candidates (competition). How much time will you give them? sometimes they want 32 hours other times 24 other times full time. Guest guest
I told him i am very flexible and will work either part time or full time, Weekends and holiday.... Right now i am on summer break. I just want a tech job at any RETAIL place... i want part time, but i understand that training is usually full time.... so thats why i say i'm open to that... Other than long drugs, i couldn't not find any openings for jobs at CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens, ralphs, vons, etc... Do these places just not list them... Do i have to come to the store to find out... Kinda feels weird to do that. but oh well. Guest guest
I see both part time and full time listed in most CA kisoks at the stores. However as a rule they train you on full time hours, then place you in a location full or parttime or have you roam to locations as needed. Keep us posted. Are you going to call him on Monday? Mondays are very busy, but early bird gets the worm! er work! Jeanetta yuriy04 <yuriy04@...> wrote: I told him i am very flexible and will work either part time or full time, Weekends and holiday.... Guest guest
I probably will call on monday, maybe at a time when there is fewer customers. What are kisoks??????? Guest guest
i just want to suggest a website if you have an email address, this is where i found the advertisement for the tech job that i will be starting in a month( at the hospital). i don't know if this is allowed or not, but the site is indeed.com. all you have to do when you go to the page, you type in the kind of position you're intrested in and the area. just look at the top of the page and there should be a statement that will say " SAVE AS EMAIL JOB ALERT. " just check the box at the front of this statement and you will have job posting sent directly to you inbox as often as they become avaliable.good luck.hope this helps. Guest guest
Sorry: kiosks They are the electronic compute device that you can seek product within the store and also you can seek employment. Sort of an internal computer system with a nice monitor. Some videos Jeanetta yuriy04 <yuriy04@...> wrote: I probably will call on monday, maybe at a time when there is fewer customers. Guest guest
the traditional way is to go to the store to find out if they have openings. --- yuriy04 <yuriy04@...> wrote: I told him i am very flexible and will work either part time or full time, Weekends and holiday.... Guest guest
Yeah Karin, these days it is more and more impersonal. It really depends upon the PIC and DM's how they want to handle it. Most of the sites that my students extern at get hired. But if you go in off the street they are much more strict about the 'procedure', unless you come recommended by an employee/RPh who has worked with you before. Then again it also depends upon what state. Some states in the south are still 'good ol' boy states': who you know not what you know.
