I have in my files section a study guide book review and recommendations. I have used both the Delmar's Pharmacy Technician TextBook by (forgot her last name), but not sure if that is the same as the Certificate book and I love the Marvin Skoogenke books. But rec that you get both of his books not just one of them asthey compliment each other. I believe taht if you are smart enough to have a degree in law taht you will be able to read, study the pharmacy tech books and pass the exam. Then it will be a matter of skill and trainging and who will hire you with out experience. What state are you in ? It makes a big difference. I recommend that you begin studying your books and then take the practice exam on www.ptcb.org and using this site. READ everything in the files section and also use every link. But it could help you land a job. Yet since it is not required this could go either way for you depending upon the employer. A few will want you because you have it. Others (most will not care). Regarding states that require education: Washington, California and Utah. States that require all techs to be PTCB certified are: Louisianna, Utah, Texas, Wyoming, Montana Some states that require some techs to be certified are: Arizona, New Mexico, Tennessee If you want more information go to www.ptcb.org to find the newest survey on this infor. However I caution you that the information is one to two years old and changing very rapidly. Requierents are a hot issue. Now what climate do you want?? hee! Yes you can get hired without experience and if a particular state does not have requirements. Ifr a particular facility is looking to train someone then they will weigh your cert more than if you go in with nothing. Of course experience out weighs vthe cert unless the stae does not require it. But some facilities want untrained to train their own way.
