Guest guest
G'day to you too No there isn't any definitive test for M.S. all they can do is weed out the diseases that mimic M.S. and then tell you after three separete episodes "yes you MIGHT have M.S." I had a cat scan and that was inconclusive or the dr. reading it was unsure if it showed M.S. Same as the MRI, of course this was back when MRI's were fairly new on the scene (1982). We are having an election up here right now and depending on which politition keeps his promise (I won't hold my breath) there may be a chance that I can get in to have another MRI yet. But coupled with spinal taps to see if breakdown myelin is present in the spinal fluid plus certain antibodies ?apparently gives a definitive diagnosis.I also had cortical visual response tests (+CAT scans) which are the final nail in the coffin. I wasnt aware that huge advances had been made in the diagnosis of MS such that you could tell definitively off a few MRI's. Have I got it that wrong????????? Louise (OZ) PS I'd be extremely antsy if i was going to get a leg brace, I;tll either make life easier or you'llthrow it away in disgust! ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here
