Caffeine has not been good for me. I am not sure about long range damage, but I feel an imediate difference and it is not good.

I rely on nutrition. B-12 and Energy now from Trivita work best for me. I tell about all it on my website.

hii'm interested to know how you all feel about caffiene. i've beencaffiene free now for 4 years, way before i had my diagnosis, justbecause i react quite strongly to it. i got so tired the other morning,i had a cup of weak coffee as an experiment - blimey it definitely waswhat was needed and kept me going well into the evening, i was flying onit !i''ve heard that caffiene is not good at all for MS, and was wonderingwhether to use it as an emergency measure for that extra energy boost,or is it best not to bother ? i have also been tempted to have a can ofred bull, that would blow my head off no doubt !Tom - i have had some exposure to 'recreational' amphetamine some yearsago, and my view of it is that it can seriously screw your head. however i think it is used / has been used for some kind of attentiondeficit disorder in children in a controlled way - it might be worthlooking into that for side-effects etc.alileeds, UK

I am very sensitive to caffeine - most of the time but not always. I never

know which it will be, but I do use caffeine via tea or even chocolate now

and then for a boost. In times of great need I'll hit Starbucks for a cold

coffee drink, a double or triple hit to my health there - sugar, dairy, and

caffeine all in one glass. But sometimes I just " gotta "

Ali,

The most recent studies indicate that caffeine is helpful to prevent

diabetes. A lot of ms'er's are susistiple to that so I about 3-4 cups of

coffee a day, no ill effects.

Regards,

Tom

Tom I wish that were true in all cases, but as of yesterday I was diagnosed as a type two diabetic. I always drank five or more cups a day, but I also had four or five spoons of sugar per cup. I was so like a humming bird and it has caught up to me cause of no exercise putting on extra weight and a family history of diabetes plus all that sugar..........four strikes and your out.

Hi Reg,

Drink the five cups and skip the sugar. Drink it black, it takes a week or so to get used to it but then you will never go back.

Regards,

Tom
