Since this question is pertinent to all Therapist, maybe this should be explained in more detail. I would appreciated it if those who work for one board or another explain why theirs is better than the other, and how it affects us when we are from the US vs. Canada.

Yours in Health,

Kathy

I went to pharmacy.ca.gov to print out the application. Is this the

application that we need to fill out in order to become a tech? If so,

do I submit a photocopy of the certificate or I have to send in the

orginal certificate. Thank you for your time.

Send in ONLY a copy of your original and KEEP the Original.

you will need most of all what I said in my previous list. You will not have to

show proof or residency, althought they may ask. Since CA says school or PTCB

you do not have to show proof of graduation from a school.

You may or may not have difficulty finding work, as you may find more employers

at hospitals want those who went to school, and retail like to train their own

so they may be more open to hiring you.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Dear Carla,

First of all you are not alone! Many have had to do the same thing!

Glad you found the site and recommend it.

May I suggest that you use my A Study Plan and Tutorials (Folder #5 in

Files section).

Also go to the files section to find my study guide book

recommendations, there are two files:

Files > 2- Books and Study Guides

Books and Study Guides Review for PTCB - 2007.doc

Updated version of the original 2002, updated 2003 and 2007, by

Jeanetta. I have placed a list of study materials here on this site.

This is not a complete list, there are others available. If you would

like me to include a book, video or CD in this listing please email me

privately. I have given my comments and personal rating. Jeanetta

Updated Adendum December 15, 2007

Additional book or books that have been reviewed and need to be added

to the original review.

Hope this helps.

I am sure those reading and studying will have their input of the

books that have helped them.

So you signed up for a test date?

Keep me/us posted!

Respectfully,

Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS

I recently passed the PTCB exam (score 804). I used Jeanetta's

tutorials and study guides and also Joe Medina's review manual, which I

purchased online at techlectures.com. All of these materials were very

helpful. I can't thank Jeanetta enough for her wonderful study group

and all of the free materials she supplies online.

I often wonder if she ever sleeps. Thank you Jeanetta! for all of the

time and effort you put into everything you do.

After studying for many months I was still struggling with math

calculations. I was even thinking about cancelling my exam date. But

then less than 2 weeks before the exam date, I purchased Dawn

LaLiberte's " PTCB Math Workbook for Pharmacy Technicians " and a light

went on. I finally got it! I went into the exam with confidence and

came out with confidence that I had passed.

The Math Workbook can be purchased at a very reasonable price at

ptcbtrainer.com. Within one day the workbook was emailed to me in PDF

format and I was able to print it and didn't have to wait for it to

arrive and pay shipping costs. There is also a Study Manual and

practice exams (you cannot beat the prices).

So thanks again to Jeanetta Mastron, Dawn LaLiberte and Joe Medina. I

couldn't have done it without them.
