Guest guest
Hey ! You got the same amount of parts that I did: 2.5/45 of the 50% Dextrose PLUS 42.5 /45 of the 5% Dextrose The only problem is this: I do not see how much you are supposed to make? So let us begin the problem again! Let us say that the doctor ordered 1 Liter of a 7.5% Dextrose solution. Then the allegation would be: 2.5 /45 x 1000ml = 55.56 ml of 50% Dextrose PLUS 42.5/45 x 1000ml = 944.44 ml of 5 % Dextrose ----------------------------------------------- Makes ............ 1000 ml of 7.5% Dextrose I hope this helps you, because unless the full amount of information is there you can not do the problem. In the problem that you gave I could not find the amount (volume) that the doctor ordered (to make). Guest guest
Hi - If your book provides the answers to the problem add the volumes of together to get your final total volume. Guest guest
Dear , What is thename of this book again? Okay so just use the 'calculate ratio " using the allegation method then multipy by what ever amount you want to make. was there an answer in this book? or Teacher's edition? Thanks for your study questions and in put, Jeanetta CPhT BS Chem Founder/Owner > > > Here is an alligation problem, " we " ( the students ) , could > not > > > figure out; > > > > > > " ......prepare a D7.5W solution.......... > > > ....beginning with.......500 mL > > > of D5W......... > > > ...and adding D50W ..... Guest guest
, Is this from the Pharmacy Calculations book that was written by Don Ballington and Laughlin? I have this same exact book.In fact Don Ballington is one of my instructors for my pharmacy tech course at Midlands College. There are a lot of typos and errors in this book.I have already finished this course(we did it first semester) and I would be willing to help just tell me which page/number you are talking about. Guest guest
Dear Donna, Just noticed this post. Yes Mr.Ballington is a well respected author/eductor among educators. Happy to know someone who has been taught by him. I have never met him, it would be an honor. Yes this is the same book that you refer to. I am sure Mr. Ballington is concerned with the typos. As Mr Joe Medina tells me, { I have editied much of his work and CE's both for TechLectures an dNPTA Today's Technician Magazine}, an author is only as good as his/her editor. So he may need a new editor or just to have it re-edited for a new edition. If he were a new author it cost him tremendously. But being the 'author' educator that he is, I am sure that he will get through this and the next edition will be perfect. Thank you for your offer to help. I think that is great! So are you working or externing? Tell us about your self...
