I have not been very impressed with the book I was using nor the online class I took. I wanted to learn more. Studying and reading this site has boosted my confidence and understanding of issues that had confused me. I have never been a pharmacy tech. I have never worked in a pharmacy. But, I really want to and volunteer at a local hospital. Right now I work as a custodian, but have studied every night for months so I can learn a new skill. I will be taking the exam this Saturday in Portland, Or. Thanks again, Specksock
Guest guest
Dear , I wish to thank you so much for your appreciation of this site. I have much faith in the majority of what is presented in the book that you are using. I just think that like all books that the 'bugs' have to be worked out! I also have much faith in what I and others have presented here to help you to understand the poorly written questions or the suspect answers. I wish you much success and luck, please keep me posted. I take personal interest in all of you who are studying here with us. even those who lurk and never post! Your postings have helped many to understand things that they may have the same questions about but too shy to post. I am sure you will do well on the exam. Since you had 'sense' enough to question the book's questions and answers you will have sense enough to wade through the questions on the exam! With great respect, Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS Chem F/O > Jeanetta, Joe and others, > I don't have a lot of confidence in the review book I have been > using, but hope with the help of everyone from this site, that I will > pass the exam Saturday in Portland Oregon. Guest guest
WOW WEE WOW WOW!!! I can not believe the testimonials that you and pooster have written!! Usually Dora and I do not get the thank yous and such until AFTER the EXAM!!! I am so pleased that you both have enjoyed and got so much out of the site. What I noticed is that you are both from Oregon!!!! any chance that you will be able to test at the SAME testing site and to meet??? I highly recommend it! There is NOTHING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIKE MEETING A STUDY BUDY OR PERSON FROM ONLINE WITH THE SAME INTERESTS AS YOU and one that you have been communicating with! I wish you both very much luck and that you can meet. I am sure you will pass! Please keep me personally informed as to your passing and subsequent job search and find. Should you need any letter of reference please let me know. Same for you pooster. If this would help you in any way to secure a position please feel free to ask me. You may also place my name on your resume and my cell phone number for reference as your mentor/teacher. You may state references upon request instead, and if asked then submit my name, number, email and site addy. I am sorry that you feel that you paid good money and did not get much out of your training on line. You may wish to inform the owner about your experience so that he/she can enhance it for the next 'crop' of students. By the way how much did you pay? It is my pleasure and my honor to have served you, pooster and ALL others via this site and FREE service. Thank you for allowing me to serve you. Guest guest
Jeanetta and all, Thank you also for all your postings. Your questions and explainations have helped me tremendously. I work in a retail chain. The retail questions are going to be no problem for me......it's the hospital math portions. Your wonderful step-by-step instructions are what I needed to " see the light " when it came to many of the formulas. I'm confident in the math now......my generic/brand names.....well that's another story! (I'm familiar with the ones we dispense all the time!) I'm going into Saturday with the attitude of doing my best. If my best doesn't make it this time, I'll try again in November!! On top of 40 hours a week in the pharmacy,(where I can do everything but put the label on the bottle!!) I have three children,(one who's going to be in 9th grade marching band camp soon.....oh joy!), and a husband who's been having medical problems lately too! Plus I serve as Cubmaster for our school's Cub Scouts and I help with our church's youth group and have been preparing for our VBS in 3 weeks. WHEW! I'll let you all know either way how I do! Thanks again! Therese, taking the test in Dallas, TX (at a hotel....go figure that one!!)
Guest guest
Dear jeantetta and redbird..and all, I agree with Redbird...we all have so much on our plates!! I work full time, and am a single mom with a special needs child. To find this site was a God send. It was clear concise and so personal, yet directed to so many people!! actually pooster aka mary and I have been studying together online since the first of the year. We worked probelms online every night for months. The one thing that was hard was to study brand/trade names. But, we are both bringing our falsh cards and are going to play that concentratin game you suggested. We are meeting today and studying any and all math probelms we have had. has a 84 year old uncle who is a retired math teacher. tomorrow we get a room in Portland and it is our Concentration day!!! Once again, thank you so much. You have helped us tremendously!! By the way, my name is Barb. so this Barb sends appreciation thank yous to all who participate. Guest guest
Dear Redbird/Therese, Thank yo so very much for your displayed appreciation of this site and my service. It is a pleasure and an honor to serve you and others. I am just so flabberghasted that you and others recently before you have chosen to thank 'us' bEFORE the exam.... this is so highly unusual! In addition the site was going so very very slow until this past week that I did not truly expect much to be said in the way of thank yous. I just thought Ihad many lurkers and many using the tutorials in silence, until this past week when you all started posting! In the past we have been ver busy 4 weeks in advance, but this time only one week in advance. Your posting confirmed my suspicions! I think that the Tutorials in the File section help a lot and that peoople are using them, eve though I am not aware of it. On this side of the site it makes if very lonely, so I welcome the feedback. Please be sure to fill out the survey / Poll that will will be coming soon after the exam. You are one very busy person! I commend you and 'envy' you! Hee! The " hotel " sounds like you should stay over for a few days! I know that you will do just fine! STay in touch and keep us informed, Love ya Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS Chemistry F/O > Jeanetta and all, > > Thank you also for all your postings. I cannot believe that this particular " study round " helped you all so much. I know I/we did not field as many questions as we have done in the past! So it is just wonderful to know that the files section and all has helped you out so much. Please give me some feedback on the flash cards!! Have a wonderful Day of Concentration and keep me posted. I am in aw that you and pooster know each other and have been studying every night on line?! so you aere to meet for the first time? or you actually have met? How exciting! Good luck, Love Jeanetta > Dear jeantetta and redbird..and all, > > I agree with Redbird...we all have so much on our plates!! I work > full time, and am a single mom with a special needs child. Guest guest
Thanks for all the help your site has given me. I finished school in January and took about a month to study and brush up on all my skills before I attempted the PTCB Certification test. I took it on Monday and passed. Yeah!!! Now if I could just find a job that would be great. Nothing is available in my area right now. Kind of depressing, but I will keep trying. Hopefully something will come up.
