Guest guest
Any of you ever tried Power-Pak free CE? I've studied several of the courses over the last couple of years. I've been reading one and trying to answer the questions. I've come to a question I have to ask myself.. concerning answers to the questions over the reading material. course The Cost of Pain The one question, actually number14. One study (Porter) reported the risk of addiction from prescription opioid analgesics in non-cancer pain to be: A. 1 in 5 B. 1 in 10 C. 1 in 100 or D. less than 1 in 1000. Am I reading it wrong? I believe the answers could be answered about a cancer pain rather than a non cancer pain given the material in the reading. So, maybe if going to the bib. and retrieving at the library the NEJM 1980;302, 123. One might find the answer in the same context.. The next question concerns dosage.(?) Number 12. The answers possible A. 25-33% B. 50-75% C. 100% and D 200%. The question; Extra medication for incident or breakthrough pain should be about what percentage of the 12-hour amount of oral, controlled-release medication? In the reading material, the amounts written were 5% - 15% of the 24 hour dose. I suppose you could think of it in a way like 50%, that being the remainder of the 24 hour dose, but then theres still a 10% difference after adding the 15% of however many mg that may be...Still wrong according to the way I'm understanding it. Maybe Jeanetta will take a look at it, or any of you could e-mail me back and give me an opinion. Of course not to forget the idea is to dose with the least amount possible to keep the patient comfortable and to avoid side effects. Deb e-mail thicketof@...
