I am new to this list all because my daughter is in the navy overseas and she

has voiced her opinion to me about how she feels about getting this shot and

how they will make them take it or get put out. I forward all the email and

links about this shot all because what she has told me isn't what I am

reading. I haven't seen anything good about it. As far as FDA so far they will

approve anything, Till we the people prove its safe or not, Remember fen/phen.

Too many people had to die before it got pulled.

Can anyone tell me if there is a difference between the FDA " licensing "

of the anthrax production and the " approval " of the anthrax production?

It seems that the these two words have been interchanged all too often.

The pentagon uses " approval " but the FDA uses " licensing " .

Second, is there any information on Cohen getting the rest of

the anthrax vaccines or even if it was in fact anthrax he got instead of

a B-12 shot on TV?

Tim

PS: Clinton and Gore refused the anthrax vaccines.

Tim,

Re: Cohen getting more shots, I haven't seen it. If they are getting

a real vaccine and not saline solution, I doubt it is from some of the

lots that I can think of.

Also, I swear every news article claims different numbers of refusers.

the latest at expressnews took it back down to under 100, yet hasn't

even the military said 200 in some quote? I do recall reading

a rediculous quote where they are not keeping track of those :)

I have some swamp land to sell to those who believe that.

I asked the FDA directly (Mr. s in Biologics) the difference between

" licensing " and " approved. " He said that they mean the same and can be used

intercangably. Also, where did you find your info about Gore and Clinton. I

guess they didnt have to take it because they dont go to the " theater. "

True- they do not have to go to the theater nor do they fall under the

UCMJ as us military folks do but even if they said they took the

vaccine,

I wouldn't believe it.

I had a myotomy with fundoplication three years ago. Per my surgeon's orders, I

was on liquids for two weeks, then very soft foods for another two weeks. After

6 weeks I was allowed an unrestricted diet, and since then I have eaten whatever

I want. With a little water to wash it down, there isn't anything I can't eat

now. Hope it works as well for you!

With respect to the cancer risk, I can only speculate. Because the increased

risk is presumably due to food remaining in the esophagus for extended periods,

I would expect that a successful myotomy, with fundoplication to prevent reflux

and acid blockers to control it if necessary, would result in the cancer risk

being not much greater than in the general population. However, this is merely

my speculation--I don't have any data, although my doctors have supported this

line of reasoning.

2 questions

I am presently 12 days post op for myotomy and fundo. I am doing

well with soft foods...in small amounts...Is anyone who is post

myotomy/fundo able to eat meats/breads and hard fruits?

Also I wonder if anyone out there knows more about the incidence of

esophageal cancer being higher in achalasians than the general public.

All I get from research is that the incidence is higher by up to 10

times. does the myotomy lessen the risk??

Anyone know more?

Thanks, this group is a godsend

Hi Jeanne - Glad to hear your surgery went well and you are well on the road

to recovery. Yes you will able to eat meat, bread and fruit in due time.

Stick to the soft and " easy to go down " food until your surgery heals, and

by that I am referring to the internal surgery which we can't see but does

take time to heal.. I really didn't tackle those types of food for about

three months. My doctor told me toasted bread is easier than untoasted and

I have found this to be true. With respects to hard fruit, I still take

small bites and chew very well. Meat should be tender and again small

pieces. I didn't have a salad for a long time, but have no problems now. I

had the myotomy and funduplication in November 99. It has been very

successful for which I am thankful. Keep up the good work, but I would

suggest taking it slow and easy and you will find you will be there in no

time.

All the best...............

I think it would be fine for you to do a bit of extra cardio (say two

extra days of moderate cardio 30-45 minutes) in addition to your 3

HIIT sessions. Just beware that you don't do too much; you don't

want to start burning muscle. As far as the ab boot camp goes, go

for it, but keep in mind that you can't spot reduce, so your abs are

not going to show if they're covered in fat no matter how many

different ab exercises you do. I've found that really hitting my abs

intensley works best when my body fat drops below 18%; I can really

sculpt them then.

I just started week 9 and I was tired until last week! I think it

takes a while for your body to adjust. I was sleeping 10 hours and

still tired. And I always get a stomach ache and just pretty much

feel like crap on free day. Drinking a lot of water helps. It is a

good reminder though of why a free day everyday is not good way to

live!

Hi Shaun,

I had similar problems after free days when I was doing my first 12

weeks on BFL last summer. I used to take a free day on Saturday and

I would really feel ill on Saturday night and Sunday--spending half

the night in the bathroom. I definitely think my body was rejecting

the fatty, rich foods it was not used to anymore. Then, I started

just taking a free meal, and since the rest of the day I ate very

clean, not to mention eating 4 or 5 times before dinner out on

Saturday, I was not as hungry and I could tolerate the occasional

extra fat. I have now lost over 45 pounds (it's been over 9 months)

and I no longer even take the free meals . . . partly because I

don't have those cravings anymore, but also because I did like how I

felt after. Instead, I often eat bigger portions of BFL authorized

foods on my " day off " so that I am increasing my calories a bit and

still getting the benefit of keeping my body guessing, but I am not

taking in the greasy stuff that made me sick!

I never have experienced a lack of energy in the morning, but I do

find myself falling to sleep much, much earlier than I have in

years, struggling to make it to 10 pm!

Best of luck,

Sherri

--- Carbs and sugars attract Bacteria in the gut. They love SUGAR.

They eat it and produce GAS. This gives me terrible stomach aches on

my free days. Also the fats. Your body isn't used to them. After my

free days I swear I'm not going to do it again,,,,, but I always do.

Actually I don't eat the Go Lean Crunch(too sweet) but do eat the

regular Go Lean and the Good Friends and consider them authorized

due to their high fiber content. There is also a cereal called Hi-Lo

that is pretty good and fairly low carb and low sugar.

I regularly mix pineapple into my cottage cheese but always rinse

the canned type well to remove any of that juice or syrup it is

canned in.

> When did you notice the benefits of kombucha?

It's been a while, but for me I started with 4oz per day, which I soon

dropped to 2oz due to initial reactions and then worked up to about a cup a

day over a 6 week period. The first couple of weeks I actually felt worse

but I could see things turning around by then. After 6 weeks I saw real

positive changes which continued to increase over more than a year after

starting. I remember suddenly realizing one spring that I could breath

through my nose freely which had been a luxury I hadn't had in about 15 or

more years.

> Do I have to drink more than 4 oz daily to see it? Are they gradual?

I would say you might see subtle changes on that amount which will be more

obvious once you get up to 6 or 8oz per day.

Yes, most changes are gradual although some experience a slight energy boost

early on.

Of course this all depends on you're initial health and what benefits you're

hoping to see.

Len,

I just had to comment on this. I use a humidifier in the winter so I

can breathe at when I'm sleeping. It hasn't been working lately and

I got a new air purifier which I put in my bedroom and about 2 weeks

ago I quit using the humidifier figuring it's not working anyway.

Shortly after that I didn't wake up not being able to breathe, I

attributed that to the air purifier but I never connected the KTea

with my being able to breathe again. I'm going to turn the air

purifier off for a day and see if the tea is what is working.

Thank you for that information. I notice a lot of little things that

are changing but forget about what the tea can really do.

The steel shouldn't be a problem. Most of the water that any of us use is

going to have been in contact with metal at some point. I boil my water in

a steel pot. The problem is not with the water touching metal. The problem

is with acids sitting around in contact with metal. Many acids can react

with metals, especially given time, and this is when you have a problem.

Pasteurization is a general big no-no. Why go through all the trouble to

foster these fabulous organisms if you're just going to kill them? While

some of the health properties remain intact, perhaps even the famed

glucoronic acid, you definitely no longer get the probiotic advantage.

Just out of curiosity, where is your food co-op? I live in Olympia, and

just noticed that the food co-op was out of kombucha, and then came back

home and read your message.

Cheers,

Si

I have heard of people whose ICDs slowly migrate downward

because they were joggers or the ICD was implanted in a fat

layer.

Potassium is generally a regular part of a basic metabolic panel but the

magnesium level is not. I always have to ask the doc to add it

to the lab slip.

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone ever heard of Genesis bread? It had a chapter and verse # on it

the same as Ezekial does. I accidently grabbed it in the HFS. It is from

the same company as the Ezekial bread but with a different colour on the

label. It says it is made from sprouted grains and looks and feels exactly

like Ezekial but with some seeds in it.

The other question is about Kamut. Is that a wheat or is it like spelt

where it is an older form of wheat that is okay?

Thanks,

Sharon,

Kamut is an older grain like spelt, which isokay for us to use, just not any

more than we would any other grain.

I have heard of it on the Food for Life site. I went there and copied a list of

the ingredients of both.

Genesis bread:

Teff from the highlands of Ethiopia, Black Quinoa from the mountainous regions

of Peru, Barley from the ancient Holy Land, Brown Rice and Spelt from the Far

East, Amaranth and Chia from Central and South America, Soy from China's past,

Flax and Rye from Northern Europe, Corn from Old Mexico, Kamut from Ancient

Egypt, Millet and Sorghum from the plains of Africa, Sesame Seeds from the Near

East, Pumpkin Seeds from the Mediterranean, Spring Wheat and Unprocessed Bran

from Montana and Sunflower Seeds from the Dakotas..

Ezekiel 4:9® 100% Flourless Organic Sprouted Grain Bread

Ingredients

Organic Sprouted Wheat, Organic

Sprouted Barley, Organic Sprouted

Millet, Malted Barley, Organic Sprouted

Lentils, Organic Sprouted Soybeans,

Organic Sprouted Spelt, Filtered Water,

Fresh Yeast, Sea Salt.
