Guest guest
Dear All, Please note that this post by me was orignially posted on Sun Jul 25, 2004 6:15 pm And it clearly states that I will remove real pt data and doctors data from any real scripts. As a qualified credentialed pharmacy tech instructor in the state of California, I have access to many scripts that I could use in my files that are real with pt data and doctor's ID removed. But they do not have BAD handwriting errors that I am looking for for this particular tutorial. Due to HIPAA enforcement last year it is getting harder and harder for schools to get such prescriptions. Pharmacies worry about identification. However all the pharmacists or techs need to do is make a copy and then cut the top clinic/doctor and patient info, cut off the bottom signature then recopy. Send the recopy to the school or me. Time is the real issue here. So making a copy and blackening out such information and then having the school instructor cut up the blackened areas works best. So again if you can get your pharmacist to do this it would be great. Looking for badly written Rx's that could be read several different ways, leading to med errors. Thanks Jeanetta > Dear Pharmacy Techs and Pharmacists, > > I have someone who is a member who has a husband who has a scanner and knows how to use it! > > Now I NEED real or fake RX's!!!!! with BAD handwritting !!!! > > So if you can get some good copies of Rx's with the patient names and doctor names signatures removed I will be able to use them!! > > What I will do is be sure that there is NO identifying information. The SCANNER member will then place them on a document that I will prepare for the tutorial. > > I need about 50 such Rx's. > > On way that this can be done is to ask your pharmacist about being a part of this project. He/ or she can make a copy them self of the script. They then cut off the Doctors signature, info and the clinic or doctor's offic info and patient info. He or she may also use a black marker to do this. > Then make a copy of the altered Rx with the info removed. > > That is what is sent to me. > > Then I further alter it by adding fake Clinic or doctors office info, then I further alter it by adding fake pt info. Then I make a copy of this. Then I send it to the SCANNER . Then the SCANNER enters it in the document that I will have prepared for the tutorial. > > Then the tutorial is posted!~ > > Remember due to HIPAA all pat info must be removed. But I will also want doctor and doctors clinic and offic removed. > > Schools also get access to such Rx's like this. They usually cut off the info. But in this case we do not care if the info is blackened out or not. I just need a 'good/dark' copy of it not the original. > > Della, do you think you can supply some good Rx's? I mean copies that have such identifying info removed? I am looking for some Rx's that have very bad handwriting that would need clarification. And of course some that do not. > > I have bad handwriting and can make a few, but the truth is we want varying handwriting. > > " Workable " DEA # will NOT be added to the scripts, to protect the public from any criminal who may visit this site. Therefore if they tried to utilize the info/fake DEA they would get caught!. > > So we kill two birds with one stone! > > Any other ideas? > > Another solution is if you have awful handwriting or can fake bad handwriting I can email you what I need on the script and you can snail mail a fake back to me. In that way we will have scripts for a tutorial. Then I will place them on a document and snail mail them to the SCANNER Member who will get then scanned into a document to be placed in the files section. > > What do ya's say? > > anyone able to do this? > Thanks > Jeanetta > > > > > > > >
