Dear Sammy,

Because YOU asked I developed a Tuorial on developing a Powerful

resume. I have included examples of action words for the pharmacy

technician. I have cut and pasted some of the best advice on the

internet and added my own. I have developed three specific examples

of resumes for the pharmacy technician: one is the DRAB resume that

MOST people do, but usually do not get noticed, the other two are

POWERFUL resume styles that will get you an interview. I have

provided some tough questions that I cut and pasted that you may be

asked during an interview. I gave you some internet sites that

provide free examples of resumes and cover letters.

Here is some of what you will find on my How to Build a Resume

What a resume should convey:

" If you buy this product (Me), you will get these specific, direct

benefits. "

Jeanetta's Helpful hints:

1. Use Action or " Power " words in your `skills' section:

2. Keep your resume to one page, use quality paper: white, off

white, beige or light grey

3. Have an `objective' at the beginning of your resume to let

the employer know what type of work or career you are seeking and

what you can offer.

4. Use the suggested resume style at the end of this section

that I have specifically provided for pharmacy technicians.

5. " A combined resume includes elements of both the

chronological and functional formats " and works best for most

pharmacy technicians.

6. List jobs in reverse chronological order

7. " What NOT to put on a resume:

a. The word " Resume " at the top of the resume

b. Fluffy or rambling " objective " statements

c. Salary information

d. Full addresses of former employers

e. Reasons for leaving jobs

f. A " Personal " section, or personal statistics (except in

special cases)

g. Names of supervisors

h. References "

i. Personal hobbies or interests (unless the pertain to the job)

What most people do not know about electronic mail email of resumes:

http://www.10minuteresume.com/index.cfm

" Copying your resume into a standard e-mail browser may create

hidden formatting visible only to the recipient. The risk is the

employer could receive an unreadable or unprofessional resume.

If you try sending an attachment yourself you may send a file

version that will be difficult for an employer to open. Companies

also have polices against opening unfamiliar attachments to prevent

computer viruses (our formats are virus free). Companies don't tell

you there is a problem - they just push DELETE and go to the next

resume. "

It is best to send yourself a copy of the completed resume FIRST

before you email a copy to the prospective employer because you may

detect the problem first. You may be able to make changes.

FAX when ever you can.

Please OPEN my Tutorial on How to Build a Resume in the File section

for examples of Pharm Tech Resumes.

Please send me an email of your completed resume for feed back.

Respectfully,
