Guest guest
I'm still in shock over a phone call from my father who lives in a different state (damn typical old generation Greek - I could kill him grrrrr) Last week, he rang me to ask the name of the medication im on, cause he knows a man with MS in his neighbourhood who is using a wheelchair and needs help. Ok, I spelt out over the phone Low Dose Naltrexone, he read it back. He said, Ok, thanks love, I will tell him to ask his doctor. havent heard back from my father until just now. This man with MS has already been to his doctor, got a script, didnt have it compounded, just got the 50mg tablets in a bottle - rang my dad, asked MY DAD, how much to take? My dad said, 'I dunno, cut it in half, just to be on the safe side?, and drink it down. " Holy Crap, this man has taken 25mg of Naltrexone in one night?? Needless to say, he is vomitting and very ill. I told dad to ring him immediately, and gave my father instructions on how to crush, mix, store, and measure out 4.5mg (i wasnt sure what dose this man should try, but hell, NOT 25MG.) Im so angry and extremely worried. How irresponsible of my father to not ask for instructions. Who would have expected this to happen so fast and so stupidly? Alot of people just take no care with medication and precautions etc. The naivety. I bet he doesnt even know what he's taken and what its really for!!! What should I do now? Should I ring back and ask Dad to tell this man to go hospital right now? Whats the worst that could happen? Friday
