Guest guest
I'm hoping someone can help clarify this for me. I have read in some of the posts that for Texas that you do not have to be certified but do have to register, but to register you have to be certified????? I bolded the comments below. Maybe I am just reading it wrong? I'm in Texas and am going the way of self study (mail order course certificate) and was thinking I would then take the PTCB exam and be able to get hired more easily. But after looking at some of the practice test questions, I have to wonder if I will be able to take the exam right away and not need more hands on learning through work experience? Do many take it right away and pass? Also do I need to look into becoming registered now (if I don't need to pass the test first)? I saw someone say that it needs to be done (for them) by February 1st. Wasn't sure what that was about. Thanks, Bethany > > Jeanetta, > > In Texas, a technician does not have to have " official " schooling to > become certified or registered. > > To become certified, you have to pass the PTCB. > > To become registered, once you pass the PTCB, you then register with > the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP)
