Guest guest
The California 'Script' is an electronic News letter of what is goingon in the state of CA. Sadly, it often mentions the revokations, suspensions and other actions taken against ill-doers who are entrusted to dispense medications. I was not surpriesed either. We just don't need any more bad publicity thats for sure! but the TRUTH MUST come out so that others who do not feel or believe that technician education, registration, fingerprinting/criminal background check etc are necessary are given the whole picture/all the reasons to make a better judgement call. In addition, the public has the right to know! Most states that now require criminal background check are just beginning to see or document real criminal activity 'inside; the industry. While keeping some out, it also 'catches' many 'after the fact'. RPh and PT's are human and we must remember that they are vulnerable not only to make honest mistakes and mediation errors, but to commit crimes. Therefore surveliance and prevention are KEY. Annette, you maybe sworn to secrecy. But if you are ever in a position to inform us of any news or activity to watch out for, please do. Your experience is not shared by most of us, being a technician member of a state board. So we are very interested in what you see and do on duty. The crimes that are committed vary widely and don't begin or end with just drug or alcohol related offenses. I am sad to say I am not surprised by this at all.
