Ethics Federal Law - recall when given a scenario of state vs federal, the most stringent ( strict) law will apply and Math - All types of pharmacy math, billing, pricing, IV, TPN, grain, metric, household, etc and then Drugs: aka Pharmacology -uses (which disease states), -indications: how to use the drug for a specific patient or UAD usual adult dose. -contraindications: when not to use this drug -common side effects and toxic effect -common drug interactions -common auxiliary labels -storage and handling -unusual information about a specific drug Practice: drug label in formation expiration dates see laws unit dose system customer service compounding terms and procedures prioritizing Aseptic Technique much more Know Laws Regarding: Recalls Labeling Poison Act Controlled Substance Act Pure Food and Drug Act 1906 Food Drug and Cosmetic Act 1938 Humphrey Act 1961 to name a few Ethics Be able to compare scenarios and choose the with the most or least ethics Code of Ethics What techs can and can not do by law. What you will know if you are experienced is specific procedures and storage and handling, customer service. If you are not a tech at the time you take the exam or if you have never volunteered to work in a pharmacy via school externship or otherwise (no experience) then you probably will not be able to answer a few questions regarding storage and handling or procedures. But there are many more questions that you CAN answer and still pass. I hope this has helped.
