Guest guest
Anita, Are you eating a lot of carbohydrates? Carbs plus fats will raise your cholesterol and a lot of other bad things. If you can cut out virtually all but 22 grams of carbs for the next month or so, you'll lose weight and it will also help with the cholesterol problem. I did that for about six months, lost 30 pounds, and felt better than I have in years. anita_backensto <ecvin@...> wrote: i'm on a fixed income, so i have been using louana coconut oil. i cannot afford the virgin oil from health food stores, so i wanted to know if anyone knows about using louana. i will say it has taken a wart off my leg when nothing else has worked. i rub on a bit 2-3 times daily and after only about 2 weeks, it is almost gone. i went to my doctor yesterday and he said my cholesterol has risen quite a bit, and i gained weight. i use 3-4 T. a day of louana coconut oil, so i have been wondering could taking the oil internally have caused this? i am eating lots of fruits and veggies, little to no meat of any kind, and exercising, so i was very disappointed with this. i have been taking the oil for health problems internally as well as on the skin, so i was really concerned. i am hoping these results were there before starting the oil. i have been taking the oil for about 3 weeks. i am wondering (scared?) to keep taking this if it is going to cause me to gain weight and to have higher cholesterol, as i a already have high cholesterol numbers. that is one of the reasons i started the oil was to lower it. but, it has helped resolve the chronic constipation i have had for yrs. my main question though is the taking of louana coconut as opposed to virgin coconut oil. any info will be much appreciated. thanks. anita
Guest guest
Anita, can you be specific with us? What were your cholesterol numbers before, and what are they now? Please tell us HDL, LDL and triglyc, not just total cholesterol. Thank you! Nina Re: non virgin oil or louana Anita, Are you eating a lot of carbohydrates? Guest guest
Hi Anita, since you seem to doing things correcty, how about further checking into your thyroid. I am hypothyroid also and found that I was not metabolizing fat and needed my thyroid medication checked for the right dose. If your thyroid meds are not at the proper level, weight loss for those with hypothryroid is slow. Maybe you can checkout one of the thyroid groups for additional assistance. F.
