Guest guest
Sally, You seem to think that we need tons of antioxidants to protect us from something, mainly our meat consumption. My question is, if the meat is healthy, I'm not sick, what do I need all these antioxidants for? The environment? We all take our chances there. Have you not heard about all the E. Coli from tainted vegetables? Nothing is safe. Just eating vegetables and fruits doesn't guarantee you of anything. Even vegetarians get cancer. You are wrong when you say, just omitting bread and grains is enough. Sugar must go and all it's forms. Just what do you think low carb is for? Weight loss? Overall health? If it's weight loss then, you do need to cut out most carbs in the beginning to find out what your body can handle. This is a phase most go through and then gradually add other foods back in. Once again, you are not getting how this works, you are just saying it's unhealthy because of what you've " heard " from others. Atkins is low carb just like an apple is a > fruit. your version of low carb probably isn't unhealthy because you are including lots of fruit and veg, and you seem to agree with me that most fruit and veg are low carb. I know 5 a day is just a figure, as someone pointed out but it's the array of antitoxidants that 'some' low carb followers will miss out on if they choose to omit alot of fruit and veg because they see these as high carb. I mean surely just omitting the bread and grains etc is enough. Anyway, people seem to have different low carb regimes and i expect there is a lot of disagreement even among the various groups. As long as people feel healthy whichever way they do it, is a good thing. __________________________________________________
