Guest guest
My brother in law was a basket case as he lives right on the water in Tampa, Florida. He is working at a hospital in W.Va. and called the other day to say he was so worried he felt like he was having a stroke, could I please help him with the QXCI (the guy is an MD). Well, he told me last nite over dinner that right after I treated him he felt so relaxed he started making jokes about Ivan. He felt like his worries and concerns were turned over to someone else. He could sense the " someone else " dealing with the panic and fear and worry. Needless to say, brother in law was quite impressed. So, I figured this morning, why not put Hurricane Ivan on the QX and see if I could help him out? He showed a really high RFP score and most of the frequencies that showed up were related to hyperactivity and excess energy conditions. NLP was suggested -- therapies like jet lag, open mind, dissipate karma, aggression control 2. In Biofeedback, " expiration " was called for as well as " stomach. " We'll see what happens. is Rotella, M.Ac. Arnold, Md.
Guest guest
Do you have an emergency power plan or location? Do you have battery backup power for the ventilator until you can get somewhere with power? Re: Hurricane Ivan I am so glad you survived. I live here in southeast of Ga and I tell you we have had I share. Now there is another one and it looks like it may come my way. So please pray . I have a 5 yr. old daughter on a ventilator due to sma type 1. pamelamo@... wrote:Hello Everyone, Just wanted all of you to know that we are fine. Mike and I ended up staying home all by ourselves because all of my aids evacuated to Texas. It was a bit exhausting but we survived. Happy to report that all is well here in New Orleans and Gretna, Kenner etc. Just had a few wind gusts causing broken branches but we didn't even lose power (and we had the generator all fired up and ready to go). New Orleans was truly lucky! Thank you for all your good wishes and prayers! We are tired and anxious for my aids to come back, but happy to be alive. Mike is out checking the homes of all his customers who evacuated. Again, my thanks to everyone who called and offered help. We love all of you. Guest guest
Nick, Damn boy, how many hurricanes have you been through? Glad to hear that everything is fairly okay. It sounds like you went through one hell of an experience. Hopefully, you'll get power back soon. Deena
Guest guest
Well I'm surviving Hurricane Ivan after a near direct-hit here in Mobile, Alabama. *whole post revamped to remove strings of obscenities* Hurricane Ivan is notably unfun. Wednesday, power went down, fried my cable modem and my respirator. Time for the back-up. Then we cranked the generator. About 5 hours later, flaaaaa, the generator sputtered and died. It's bad - we STILL, right now, don't have power and just got back on a generator since ours died Wednesday. But we are fortunate, no damage to our house, where we rode it out (we learned from the previous zillion hurricanes that going to a hospital where you can't sleep makes it harder). Category 4 hurricanes don't play around. We are lucky we live inland in the city of Mobile and behind the hill (Spring Hill) and are protected from most of the damage. Ivan turned east at the last minute, which saved Mobile, Biloxi and New Orleans from most of the devestation but Gulf Shores and Orange Beach on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay, where it made landfall, got wiped out. Much of those coastal areas either simply do not exist anymore, or look like ground zero, with countless formerly towering condos torn in half or nothing but chunks of rubble, shredded by the winds and storm surge. Thankfully the coastal people fled. Pensacola got hit bad. The I-10 bridge to Pensacola doesn't even exist now. We're really lucky it turned east. Also, we're fortunate this hurricane didn't flood us significantly at all, nor did I hear a single thunderbolt (odd). Other hurricanes were far worse rain-wise. Hurricane Danny (category 1) flooded Mobile the worst because it decided to park it on Mobile Bay for a week, and sucked the water out of Mobile Bay (fish were flapping around without water it was one of the weirdiest things I've ever seen) and slung the water ON OUR HOUSE. Hurricane s which came into Mobile Bay (category 2-3) also flooded us. Yeah I'm a hurricane veteran, but it's not something I recommend you try. Ivan wasn't a big rainmaker for us, but packed a hellacious punch wind-wise, reminded me of Hurricane Opal (category 2) but WAY worse. We're very lucky, we had an oak tree uprooted in our yard and yeah, our driveway is somewhat FUBAR from fallen limbs and leaves, but no damage to our house...which is as I expected. Also as expected, our big problem is the power.... Scary! We had to run our respirators off our van battery for 2 days (you can do this, a full tank of gas keeping the alternator charging that battery and you can run a vent for a week non-stop). You guys can imagine how terrifying it is scrambling to get power before your respirator stops breathing. We've been through hell without power. And all this time without my humidifier or oxygen has been trying on the lungs, though I'm fine. Fortunately, all is well now that we've got a new generator. There was a huge outpouring of support today. People remembered me from the work I've done to help people get health care, and today donated 4 generators, gasoline and some fans. That's how I'm on the computer now. I'm so extremely grateful for the support and kindness people can show, and it heartens me to see good works can pay off later. I'm so lucky and sooooo thankful. I just wanted to drop you guys a note to let you know we're surviving. I've got my computer, ventilator, a fan and one lamp on the generator. HOPEFULLY our power will be back on soon. So many trees are down on power lines, it's understandable why it's taking so long (though most streets around us have power *grumble*). Best to you all, and don't worry , a mere Tropical Storm shouldn't cause you much problem at all. Nick
