Guest guest
Hi is, I can only come from a metaphysical view regarding the thyroid in general. The following quotes are from various books. Maybe they will give some clues for life areas to look at. Kathleen Lincoln, PhD in “Messages from the Body” “But not for me.” They have a very strong experience in life in which everything seems to be made and geared for everyone but them. They feel that everyone else has some sort of secret for success that they will never have. For some reason involving a mysterious set of inherent “moral cretinisms” and limitations on their part, above and beyond the ones they actually know about, they are just never destined to have success, quality of life or love. They feel that they have no right to express who they are, to develop, to put out and apply their creativity, or to succeed. They are the product of a withholding, suppressive and depriving dysfunctional family. ************************************* “Persona non grata.” They get loud and clear that no one wants to hear from them. They are utterly and universally humiliated by being the only one who doesn’t fit, who doesn’t get any support, who has to scrounge up and “spit-and-haywire” together what they need, who no one wants anything to do with, etc., etc., etc. They were the ejectee/rejectee/dejectee of their family who had to do everything for themselves on their own hook. ************************************* “Humiliation-rage.” They have a great deal of humiliation about the fact that no one respects them. Their experience is that their existence and importance is constantly being over-looked. They were the “odd one out” in their accusatory and denigrating family. “Infantile tyrannosaurus.” Their experience is that “I never get do what I want to do- When is it ever going to be MY turn?!” They are the product of convenience-concerned parenting in which giving in to their whims was the line of least resistance. They ended up believing that they are being constantly denied their fair share of things, due to the necessity of having to cooperate with the larger picture in life. They decidedly have no concept of that nor any intention of participating in the give and take of life. ********************************** “Unclear on the concept.” They have conflicts between what their conscious mind intends and what their unconscious dictates, and the result is a certain lack of discernment that gets them in trouble. They come from a family who confused them constantly on what is right and proper. “Cowering in the cave.” They fear that they will lose out all their life, and they also fear for their life, in a form of armihilation-anxiety. There is also a great deal of emotional imbalance relating to the past and to their personal feelings. They have the experience that if they do come out, They will be torn apart by a hostile and wrong-making world. Their family undermined their ability to cope and contribute, and they were subtly and continuously attacking. Karol Kuhn Truman in “Feelings Buried Alive Never Die”. Conflict between the conscious & the subconscious Fears self-expression Deep sense of frustration/anxiety Lack of discernment Rochelle Gordon in “Body Talk” Issues of life transitions are paramount here: one door closes and another opens. Have you gotten stuck in either doorway? Problems with this gland often have to do with your level of maturity, your need to grow up, yet having a desire to stay a baby in some area of your life. Lise Bourbeau in “Your Body’s Telling You: Love Yourself’ EMOTIONAL BLOCK The thyroid gland links the physical body to the throat chakra. This chakra is linked to the will, the ability to make decisions based upon needs and, therefore, creating a lifestyle true to those needs. This is the thrust of psychological and spiritual growth. This center of energy is also directly linked with the sacral chakra (associated with creativity located in the genitals area). Disorders in either chakra will disrupt the functioning of the other. See OVARIAN DISORDERS (if you’re a woman) or TESTICULAR PROBLEMS (if you’re a man). Over-activity of the thyroid gland, or hyperthyroidism, is your body’s way of telling you that you are too busy expending energy outward. Although you want to slow down and modify your life, you will not allow yourself to do so because you feel obliged to engineer the lives of those you love. You don’t take the time to determine your own needs prior to taking action. You seem to feel you always have something to prove and need the validation of others in order to feel loved. You have high expectations of yourself and of others. You live in constant fear of not being able to act fast enough, or of having your hands tied. Everything must be done right away. Your actions are often based on poor judgment or misplaced motivation, in other words, not according to your true needs. You will say whatever it takes, even lie, to get things moving. Under-activity of the thyroid gland, or hypothyroidism is your body’s way of telling you that you want to be more active but that you don’t make enough requests in order to get what you deeply want. You are afraid before even getting started. You are certain that you will not be quick enough to get what you want and, as such, have lost contact with your I WANT. These two small words harness a tremendous creative force. They are the fuel necessary to propel you toward what you want. It is said that the throat chakra is the chakra of abundance Why? Because by listening to the voice of your true needs, you honor your I AM, and from this point of balance and harmony, there can only be abundance on all levels: happiness, health, love and prosperity. MENTAL BLOCK If your thyroid gland is overactive, you are receiving an important message to live in moderation, to take the time to discover your true needs so that you can take the steps to create the life you deeply desire. There is no need to be continually doing in order to validate yourself, to feel important, recognized or loved. Let go a little and stop approaching every situation as an emergency. I’m sure that, once you return to your natural rhythm and acknowledge and fulfill your own needs, life will become not only more pleasant for you, but for those around you. As the thyroid manages physical growth, once you’ve learned to use your I WANT only in reference to your own needs, you will grow on a soul level: You will begin to realize what you were born to do. If your thyroid gland is under-active, you must realize that you alone can bring it back to its natural, fully functioning state. Let go of the detrimental belief that you are unable to engineer your own life and must not make any requests. It’s time you acknowledged your right to a full and satisfying life. If you had trouble asking for anything as a child, it’s time to change. You now need only answer to yourself. It’s possible that you also need to go through a process of forgiveness concerning those who made you feel insecure about achieving your goals. They may have led you to believe you weren’t capable or that your dreams were unreachable. Understand that these people were in your life to teach you a lesson about overcoming fear, to strengthen your resolve and actually fuel your determination to create.
