RAIN . . .

She had been shopping with her Mom in Wal-Mart. She must have been 6 years old,

this beautiful red haired, freckle faced image of innocence. It was pouring

outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the top of rain gutters, so much in a

hurry to hit the earth it has no time to flow down the spout.

We all stood there under the awning and just inside the door of the Wal-Mart.

We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up their

hurried day. I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound and

sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and dust of the world.

Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child come pouring in as a

welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.

Her voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we were all

caught in. " Mom, let's run through the rain, " she said.

" What? " Mom asked.

" Let's run through the rain! " She repeated.

" No, honey. We'll wait until it slows down a bit, " Mom replied.

This young child waited about another minute and repeated: " Mom,

let's run through the rain. "

" We'll get soaked if we do, " Mom said.

" No, we won't, Mom. That's not what you said this morning, " the

young girl said as she tugged at her Mom's arm.

" This morning? When did I say we could run through the rain and not

get wet? "

" Don't you remember? When you were talking to Daddy about his

cancer, you said, 'If God can get us through this, he can get us through

anything! "

The entire crowd stopped dead silent. I swear you couldn't hear

anything but the rain. We all stood silently. No one came or left in the

next few minutes.

Mom paused and thought for a moment about what she would say.

Now some would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. Some

might even ignore what was said. But this was a moment of affirmation in a young

child's life. A time when innocent trust can be nurtured so that it

will bloom into faith.

" Honey, you are absolutely right. Let's run through the rain. If

GOD let's us get wet, well maybe we just needed washing, " Mom said.

Then off they ran. We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they darted

past the cars and yes, through the puddles. They held their

shopping bags over their heads just in case. They got soaked. But they are

followed by a few who screamed and laughed like children all the way to their

cars. And yes, I did. I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.

Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions,

they can take away your money, and they can take away your health. But no one

can ever take away your precious memories...So, don't forget to make time and

take the opportunities to make memories everyday.

To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under

heaven.

A friend sent this to me to remind me of life. Hope you enjoyed

it...

I HOPE YOU STILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN THROUGH THE RAIN --

* Keep in touch with your friends, you never know when you'll need

each other.*

Regards, .

> Bring a folding umbrella.... I don't think we will melt.

From the forcast this morning, it is supposed to be dry on Saturday.

That is what I am planning for. Like said, we have an 8'

covered walkway all around the house, a covered front and back deck,

a gazebo and the house (be it small). We will be just fine.

Remember, if the food you are bringing needs to be kept hot - a crock

pot is the best. We can keep them plugged in till we need to put

stuff out to eat.

This is a casual, informal picnic. Our main purpose is to meet,

greet, share and get to know each other better. I will have my yard

and house all ready to go - but I'm not going to be June Cleaver with

my hostess apron on - I'm there to mingle and visit just like

everyone else. So, if you need to do something with your food or

whatever, pretend like it's your house and " just do what you need to

do " . I want everyone to feel relaxed and to just have a good time.

See you all on Saturday.

We're hoping the rain will put an end to the fire season early. Last year the

fires were awful. We have been in a drought for a very long time! (5-7 years)

Kate

oh Kate, lucky you " it's finally raining " .... here in Switzerland it's

nothing BUT raining for three weeks ... !

My hubby thinks we had a nice light rain all day and last nite. Those poor

LOL, I'd call it more than light, too. It's hard to imagine how the same

storm that wreaked unbelievable havoc down there just gave us a much-needed

rain. I have a cyber friend on another list who has mentioned some awful

things

down there. . .

BTW, I just got a second mortgage and filled up my gas tank. I paid

2.75/gal. Could be worse!

I have an aunt and uncle who made it to Pensacola to stay with another

uncle, but still haven't heard about my cousins and their kids and

grandkids(all in the Slidell/NO area). I am just heartsick over the

whole mess they have right now. My dad said that the area we used to

live in was hit hard too. I just can't imagine what everyone there

has to deal with. Sure makes my little miseries seem piddly.

, your family will be in my prayers. I don't have any family or

friends in the Louisianna, Mississippi, Alabama area and I couldn't

imagine waiting and worrying from afar. Watching from a distance sure

makes me feel fortunate and my problems are nothing compared to what

they're going through. Please let us know if you hear from them. Take Care!

I'm so sorry to hear that, . That's one of the worst things with a

calamity like this is not knowing where or how loved ones are.

Kincaid picture & commentary by his daughter...I hope the rain shows in the picture! It's awesome if it does! The message is awesome, too! You must forward the email to save the picture!

& nbs p; One rainy afternoon I was driving along one of the main streetsof town, taking those extra precautions necessary when the roads are wet and slick.

Suddenly, my daughter spoke up from her relaxed position in her seat. " Dad, I'm thinking of something. "

This announcement usually meant she had been pondering some fact for a while, and was now ready to expound all that her six-year-old mind had discovered. I was eager to hear.

" What are you thinking? " I asked. " The rain, " she began, " is like sin, and the windshield wipers are like God wiping our sins away. "

After the chill bumps raced up my arms I was able to respond. " That's really good, Aspen. " Then my curiosity broke in. How far would this little girl take this revelation? So I asked.. " Do you notice how the rain keeps on coming? What does that tell you? " Aspen didn't hesitate one moment with her answer: " We keep on sinning, and God just keeps on forgiving us. "

I will always remember this whenever I turn my wipers on.Isn't it distressing to know that when you forward this message you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them. Funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what God thinks of me.

In order to see the rainbow, you must first endure the rain!!!

I seem to feel better when it is colder out too, anybody have any idea what

the correlation with radio waves would be with temperature?
