Welcome!!

I too have an 11 month old son...small world. When's your ds's

bday? So happy to hear that you have decided to not vaccinate. I

had considered the possibilty of not vaccinating, before we initially

had, but also thought that doctors knew alot, and RJ paid for that

belief, with a severe reaction. Thankfully, it seems, he has no

permanent damage, but I am sure we won't know for possibly years.

This is a wonderfully supportive group, and very well informed. You

will gain all the knowledge that you need to support your decision,

from here, I am sure. Again, welcome, and I look forward to reading

more of you posts!! :o)

Donna,

Your a lucky lady I am so happy to hear your baby is okay! There seem to be

many unlucky parents out there! My boy Asher dob is 7/21/00 and he to is

becoming quite the walking, talking trouble maker! It is really helping to get

rid of these last few pounds! LOL I love it.

Being a mom ROCKS it is the greatest job ever.

Anyway I love this group I feel so much better knowing I am not alone in this

decision! I am breathing deeper. I know You all think I am cheesy right to wishy

washy. But man this weighed hard the oppositioners are hard core!

You know I was looking at my last ped. when she was lecturing me. And you know

what I saw in her facial expression it was anger. Then that forced me to think

about the position she is in what if all these anti- vaccine parents are on to

something. (Think about how many children she has inoculated I mean wow) harsh

reality. Truly I do not believe many people have the humbleness to truly admit

that something they have practiced for years is wrong and change it!

Blah Blah huh it was just a sad observation when I left I knew it was going to

be the last time I took Asher to her! And I left feeling pity for her, being so

closed minded.

I don't like being wrong either, but I am sometimes. Big deal so I admit it and

move on I don't live in the filth!

There all better for now! Thanks for the awesome links Holistic momma! I book

marked them and can't wait to dig into some of them!

Have a super duper day and I will catch you all later in cyber space!

What a wonderful attitude you have! I learned it from my days employed as a

secretary. Whenever I made a mistake and didn't own up to it, it was awful,

but as soon as I learned to admit the mistake and just move on, everything

was cool.

By the way, a couple of the links I sent out will take you into the subject

of cancer as big business. Some people have a difficult time believing that

vaccination is just big business. But when they get hit over the head with

the obviousness of cancer having been turned into big business, I think the

vaccination issue also becomes clearer.

And since you're new, I'll mention that Dr. Day's site might be a good place

to start along those lines. She had breast cancer and refused big business'

cures (chemo, radiation, surgery) and got well with alternative medicine!

I don't know. Maybe you should actually start with poor 's site.

You know some MDs are saying there is a link between cancer and vaccination.

Which makes sense because the numbers of children with cancer have

skyrocketed. Anyway, he was a little boy who died from brain cancer. And as

you read of his experience at the various top notch hospitals, and how chemo

on brain cancer has been proven ineffective and actually causes secondary

cancers (proven by orthodox research studies) - well you get a glimpse into

the big business of cancer and really all of orthodox medicine.

Could you even image the law suits that would happen too -- not to mention

the billion dollar business for the drug companies. It just the same as the

cigarette companies. Why do they sell something that is proven to be soo bad

for people? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ And why did the cigarette company and the

government hind it for so long? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Get my drift?

I'm sorry, but I can't help you in the knee area--I'm a hippie.

I do want to say that my thoughts are with you in your suffering.

Have faith in yourself and the medical experts and you will emerge

successfully through this ordeal.

People are always telling me to be patient. They are right. Some day

I may follow their advice.

Best wishes,

You're just like me, you're addicted to food. Believe me if there's hope for me there's hope for you. Three healthy meals a day and two snacks is a lot of food, you just have to think HEALTHY. First thing you have to do is clean out your pantry/fridge and get rid of the crap and replace it with healthier choices. Go to my website and look at the snacks page to get some ideas. I started at 248 and am down to 225, I know its going to be tough going but I'm determined to get to 124. I want to do it right and I want to keep it off. You can to have some faith in yourself! A good thing is joining this group. If you stick with us you'll get all the motivation and inspiration you can stand. We won't LET you quit! :) laurainwv <graciehope1984@...> wrote: Hi AllI just joined the group. Last month when I went for my physical I weighed a little over 300. Hi ! Welcome to the group. I posted my intro earlier today (or

maybe yesterday, can't remember), so if you want, you can go back and

read it.

I could've written your post word for word. For about 10 years I've

started every day with the best intentions and most of the time, wound

up overeating. The key for me has been exercise. This is the longest

I've ever stuck to something (over 6 months). And while it's been

very hard at times, for the most part I've had an easier time than

I've ever had. I have to chalk it up to the exercise. *shrugs*

I'm with Sapphyre--I think getting rid of the temptations is really

important. Also, I read through some Overeater's Anonymous books

(borrowed from the library) and they helped a LOT. So did " Make the

Connection " by Bob Greene. Just something to think about :)

I've never used the foodmover, but it sounds wonderful from what I

read on here. And the first week is always the most difficult. I

always feel hungry, tired, crabby, etc. :P Sometimes get headaches

from the sugar/caffiene withdrawal.

Best of luck to you! We're all here for ya!

Hi and welcome... Might have to start calling you 2, since I see there's another (LOL) in one of my groups I am 1 - that's where I got that at.

Hey anyway.... there IS hope for you!! You are here. That's a good step. Get the food mover out and moving it if that's what you are going to do (I don't use it - LOL)....

Journaling helps. Keep track of what you eat, when and why. See if there are other activities that you can do instead of eating. Activity, reading, etc....

Hi , My name is also. We are going to have to find a way for people to tell us apart. Maybe I will go by in MO. Where are you from? I started at 340 back in September. I am down to 295.4 as of Sunday. Back in September I learned that I have type 2 diabetes. That is what really got me starting to want to lose the weight. At that weight I couldn't walk from one room to another without being totally out of breath and hurting really bad. Now I can walk around without hurting and life is so much better for me. I still have a lot of weight to lose, but I am still working at it. I have my ups and downs though. Lately it has been really hard for me to stay on plan and also do my exercising. I have been really over eating on junk food lately and that caused me to gain three pounds. I am working now to take those three pounds back off. I'm trying at least. I am married to a wonderful man. We are both disabled. His is Cerebral Palsy. He has a mild case. Mine is a mental disability. But we keep going. Everyone on this group is so supportive. I just know you are going to love this group. from MO340/295.4/275

Welocme ! My highest was 333 - I know the surprise you felt :( Now we know the reality the nest thing is the plan. Yes blastoff week is overwhelming - the 1st time lost 50+ I did great on 1000 calories (started at 250 lbs) - I never even upped the calories - eating lunch / dinner. fast forward 10 years and 83 pounds - didn't make 2 days on 1000 - was doing all 3 meals (something about metabalism) - lost anyway, just not as quick. How about spending the first day working on just 1 goal - calories - water intake or exercise. You have to find what works for you so that you don't quit. have you checked out www.sparkpeople.com or www.fitday.com - great sites!laurainwv <graciehope1984@...> wrote: Hi AllI just joined the group. Just joined the group

Hi AllI just joined the group.Welcome! This is a great place to be! Last month when I went for my physical I weighed a little over 300. I myself started at 260. There are many here above and below us.We all have a lot to lose. It makes me want to cry when I see that number. I have cried over it before. How did I let this happen? Who knows. I think with all of us its different. I got mine after marrying and having kids. The weight came and never went away. As a matter of fact it kept coming. And then get this.....(was I in denial or what?) I weighed 260 but I didn't really feel that fat. I know it don't make sense. I mean I knew I had some weight on me but I never felt Fat. Untill I seen my daughters home videos of her marriage and graduations and special events she made a dvd of. And all the shame and embarrasement just totally engulfed me all in one night. You hear about alcoholics hitting rock bottom.....that was my rock bottom. When I seen all those videos there was no denying I was obese. I was horrified my kids had videos of me looking like that as their keepsake memories. I can't help but feel they had to be totally embarrased.I know they love me and probably wasn't but it didnt and still dont keep me from thinking that way. How did I let myself get so big? I think although it took a long time for us to get this big....like it was for me, it just kinda stuck up on us. I don't know if I'm making sense or not but like I said I knew I was putting on weight but it just didnt seem as much as it was. Looking in the mirror is nothing compared to seeing yourself in a video. If anyone needs to take off some blinders and see wht you truly look like. Watch a video of yourself.I've been obese since my first pregnancy 20 years ago. I'm beginning to wonder if there is any hope for me. Oh there's hope , We all have hope and goals. You are gonna have ups and downs, failures and success. Just remember this is a long hard road to travel and you are gonna have breakdowns every so often. Don't let the hard times make you quit. I think I've tried every diet out there. Every day I start with the best of intentions, then I cave in to my cravings and I eat. I eat a lot. One of the girls here sent in a line... I don't remember it line for line but the just of it is to just get though today. Don't worry about tomorrow. You can do anything for just today. And when you think of it that way it does make it easier. Just get up tomorrow and say to yourself you are just going to get though that day. Worry about tomorrow when tomorrow comes. I'm afraid, I feel alone, I desperately want to lose weight. Girl, you are not alone. Have you read how many people buy diet foods and joins gyms?

Have you seen the money the places like weight watchers and craig and places like that make? Have you looked at how many people joins these weight support groups? People aren't just doing that to get rid of the money in their pockets. Most are doing it because they have a weight problem just like us. Maybe not as much as us since this is a 100+ group. But most of us here are in the same boat as you.I've been afraid. I've felt alone but now I also desperately want to lose weight too.You can do it. Its just gonna take us some time. I have a foodmover, it is time to dig it out and make a fresh start. I don't know how in the world I could ever follow blast off week. If I could live on that amount of food, I wouldn't be fat. Anyone out there have success even though they skipped blast off week? I have a food mover and have never used it. Isnt that awful? My mom bought it and gave it to me when she quit using it. I think I myself do better just counting calories. Some people swear by the foodmover. I've heard of some great weight loss using it.I could never get the hang of all the different windows to move for like meats and stuff. Calorie conting for me is a lot easier. I'm anxious to make new friends and share in your success. Likewise. Thanks for reading.

Life happens! I gained from 250 to 296 when I had neck and foot problems and

wasn't allowed to exercise for a year. I slowly lost almost all of it, but

then more injuries and a lot of falls off my food plan brought me half-way

back to the top again and I'm still working my way back.

I was born fat (10 pounds) and have never been thin, or even normal sized,

in my life.

Then exerise is going to gt the weight off more so than restricting

calories. All that yo-yo dieting has slowed down your metabolism, so as soon

as you drastically reduce your calories again your body is going to go into

starvation mode, saying to itself " Oh, no! Here comes another famine! Quick!

Store that fat over there, in the belly, next to the fat we stored the last

time there was a famine (diet) just a few weeks ago! Now aren't you glad we

never got rid of any of this fat? " Exercise will build muscle and speed up

your metabolism so the fat will get burned off, if the body likes it or not.

I don't know of too many people who *could*. Just start with the card for

the weight you are now and don't worry about Blast Off week. says it

serves one major purpose - if you've been eating a lot of calories prior to

starting the diet, that dropping down to 1000 (1200 on the SlimAway Everyday

version of the Foodmover) will give you a fast, dramatic weight loss that

will give you the encouragement to go on with the rest of the plan as a

lifestyle change. Starting with the calorie card you'll be on after BlastOff

week is fine, but just don't expect to see a big loss the first week,

especially if you're already eating pretty low in calories already. But if

you've been eating a lot lately and recently gained a number of pounds, even

eating from the 2000 calorie card plus the extra fruit and protein you're

allowed for the first 50 pounds over 500 you should show a nice loss for the

first week.

Just don't forget to also drink your water and get your sweatin' in.

Hey best advice I can give you is journal. You will be amazed at what passes threw our lips that we dont acknowledge. Knowing what we eat helps. Dont forget water, exercise, and portions.

I could have written that. I think 99% of the people here could have. We

totally understand how hard this is.

Can you pick just one thing to focus on so it's not so overwhelming? Maybe

week 1 you drink a bottle of water every day. Week 2 you drink a bottle of

water every day and only have 2 sugar Cokes per day. Week 3 you drink

water, cut down on Coke and have a piece of fruit every day.

Most of us jump into a new eating plan with the best intentions then fall

flat on our faces. Maybe just take small steps this time so you can build

on your success. We are so used to failing that we need to set ourselves up

for success even if it means starting with tiny little changes.

Oh, there's a cool link to "52 small things" or something like that in the links section *I think* .... one change a week = 52 changes for the year!

My asthma first appeared in my late 30s, about 7-8 years after I moved from Moscow to MA. I discovered Samters a few years later.asimon321 <asimon321@...> wrote: Hi all. I just found this page last night. My Mom has had Samters (or the symptoms) for the last decade or so. Her allergies really got worse as she entered her mid 40's. I now am experiencing some seasonal sysmptoms much like her's and the one's I've read about here. I wanted to know was there a particular age any of you noticed your symptoms

(I'm in my early 30's). Also, does climate or area of the country play a role in the severity of symptoms (My mother is from the Midwest, but when she came to California where I live her symptoms were less severe). Thanks.
